Since I moved out of my parents' house, I've learned to appreciate so many little things... Things I always lived with but took for granted, but today everything has changed for the better.

I'm almost 40 years old. I grew up with my mom and dad. I saw them grow old, I saw them love each other, I saw them fight, and all of that was normal... Now that I live far away from them and don't see them every day, I now understand how lucky I was, or rather, how lucky I am, that I can still enjoy my parents.

I've had a tough few months financially. Fortunately, this Sunday I was able to go to my parents' house to bring them some food, including some dressings, crackers, a can of tuna, and a bottle of soda.

My parents were home alone, which doesn't happen very often because one of my sisters or a nephew is always there, but this Sunday they were just the two of them: my dad watching TV and my mom listening to the radio.

My partner and I arrived and they were really happy, how wonderful it feels to be able to return to your childhood home and be welcomed with so much love... As I write these lines, I wonder how terrible it must be for a child to arrive home and know that they can't welcome you, no matter how old you are, it must be horrible to lose a parent.

I enjoyed part of my visit sitting with my mom on the couch, talking, listening to her talk about her workouts, her sex tapes, and the radio shows—things she tells me all week on WhatsApp, but listening to her is so lovely.

I was also talking to my dad, who by the way is a person of little talk, so I have to get the words out little by little, although when he touches on a topic that he is passionate about, the conversation is more fluid. So when I talk to him about his plants we always talk for a while, this time I took advantage and talked to him about some flowers he has on the porch and that he takes from my house.

My boyfriend made a tuna appetizer with my mom; she wants to learn that recipe... The best part is that while he's learning, we can have delicious snacks, just like we enjoyed this Sunday afternoon.

Spending a quiet Sunday afternoon with my parents and boyfriend at my parents' house, the house where I grew up and have so many beautiful memories, with my parents, with my partner when we were dating.

Life is so beautiful that it allows us to live incredible moments and gives us the opportunity to value what we have, who we are, where we came from... The figure of our parents is fundamental in our lives, in the relationship we will have in the future.

God blessed me with good parents, the example of a beautiful couple, and now I have an incredible man... God is immensely good.
