I've been disconnected from social media for many days; work activities in the real world were taking up a lot of my time, and honestly, I was happy about that. I felt that, despite the circumstances, things were flowing well.
I've already finished the paperwork that was keeping me busy; some potential projects are pending until after the court recess... Well, today was a day for accounting, and it was a shock to reality.
Anyone would think that, by working, managing, and doing different work activities, you'd see a profit, but today, when it came time to do the math, to add and subtract, the results weren't what I expected.
It's tough when your spirits are high, when you feel like things are finally getting underway, and it's awful when the numbers don't add up. It's not about dreaming of unrealistic profits; it's about facing the harsh reality of the country.
It's incredible how little by little, with a copy, a bus fare, or a bit of gas, there's practically no decent profit left for your work. Mind you, I never ate out, but that's the state of the country's economy.
This post isn't to complain about the reality we live in; it's a reminder, a warning, that working more doesn't always mean being more productive, it just means being busier. Yes, I can't deny that I felt happy, but that doesn't pay the bills.
In such a complicated economy, the best thing we can do is not get our hopes up too high, but rather take things as they come; no, this isn't about being complacent, it's about accepting that we live in a strange reality.
These days, we need to be grateful and, above all, maintain professionalism, charging fair prices because, in reality, in this country, you don't earn enough, and you don't earn enough; that's not the client's fault, nor is it ours, it's the system we have to live under, and we have to learn from it.
Our economy is complex; for the time being, I don't think we'll be able to earn enough to live with dignity. These days, we often have to earn just to survive, but we must be grateful for what we are able to do.
I believe we all have to work, learn, adjust and readjust, refine strategies, juggle things, and, as much as possible, enjoy the journey, be grateful for what we have, appreciate the opportunities that come our way, and do what we must to the best of our ability.
I believe that at some point things will change; I must remain optimistic even though it's sometimes difficult, because it's not easy to be in the red or not achieve what was expected when you're doing your job, when there were no excesses or extraordinary expenses. But this is the reality I'm facing today, and like me, millions of other people are experiencing it too.
I can't say that the effort and work weren't worth it; it's simply a reality in our country that affects us all, one way or another. We can't remain stagnant; we must keep fighting, keep trying... As the song says, "Someday my luck will come!"
But in the meantime, we keep moving forward!
