❤️❤️❤️❤️English Version.❤️❤️❤️❤️
In Venezuela, we are currently experiencing a series of conflicts with basic services. There are prolonged power outages, constant electrical fluctuations, and very limited internet service. We also have problems with water distribution, sanitation, the cost of basic necessities, and the economy is terrible. We are facing many problems, and this has led to collective mental health issues.
Society in general has been wearing itself down. Today, we can listen to anyone express their feelings without fear of judgment, because they know perfectly well that this is a collective sentiment. Although we can understand and empathize with it, it is also true that we are becoming overwhelmed.
When we see that everything around us is immersed in the same pain, the same deprivation and misery, something within us begins to fill with hopelessness. Our strength begins to wane, and we start to accept that this is our terrible fate.
When everyone experiences the same tragedy collectively, there begins to be an overwhelming strain and the strength to move forward diminishes, because something inside us tells us we are all in the same boat, there is no escape, this is the only option... Then you lose the battle because mentally you have already abandoned it.
When we become trapped in a cycle of negative energy, complaints, and regrets (which are perfectly valid and understandable) that consume and stagnate us... then we definitely cannot find the light, we won't have space to breathe and think about a different tomorrow.
When our entire environment reflects lack, exhaustion, and pessimism, our minds resign themselves and we become immersed in that collective energy, in that emotional drain and that crushing sorrow... That's why it's necessary to set boundaries, to have our own spaces of peace and well-being.
There are realities we cannot change, there are external situations that will come to us, but we must learn to manage what we cannot control. If there is a general power outage, we should take advantage of that time to do activities that don't require electricity, such as reading a book, cleaning the house, exercising, or taking a walk.
I completely understand that it's not fair that we have to live through this situation, but it's also true that we can't allow this reality to affect our mental health. If we have a group of loved ones, friends, or acquaintances who get together to talk and all the topics end up being about the country's problems, then the best thing to do is try to change the subject, and if that's not possible, then set boundaries.
I'm not saying we should ignore reality, but it's also true that we can't do much to change what we've been dealt. What is within our power is to set healthy boundaries, create alternative habits, preserve our peace, and take care of our energy and our mental health.
I agree that the reality we're living through is cruel and unfair, but if we preserve our balance, if we maintain our positive energy, we can be a refuge and a source of calm for others. It's not about resigning ourselves to it; it's about learning to navigate what we've collectively been given, but doing so with the greatest strength, balance, and well-being.
