If someone had asked me in 2020, six years ago, why is wasn't pursuing my dreams and trying to accomplish my goals. I would've told them
"The timing isn't perfect yet.."
"I don't have enough money to start,"
"I'm not mentally stable,"
"I'm waiting till I have better and more standard equipment."
The truth is that procrastination is a killer of any accomplishment. My idea of perfection was just fear, wearing a different outfit.
One of the things I've unlearned this year is that I needed a perfect timing to start anything. There's no such thing as that. If I were to wait for that timing, I'd wait forever. If we keep on waiting, many opportunities would pass us by. I wonder how much let pass by me.
I started working with what I had. I began taking baby steps, learning new skills and growing them.I started writing stories for blogs, sharing my thoughts confidently, exploring freelancing.
I understood that failure was part of the learning process and a part of success. Mistakes become lessons when we learn and grow from it. This mindset made me less afraid of taking risks and trying new things.
When I fall, pick myself up immediately.I still experience setbacks despite the lessons and experiences, but the difference now is how I deal with those setbacks. I mostly focus on progress instead of perfection.
I sincerely believe that practice makes perfect. I keep showing up, I keep learning and improving in every aspect.
The biggest change I experienced wasn't from learning something new but from letting go of an old belief that was setting me back.
What is a good belief or habit you've unlearned that has made your life better?. I want to hear your story in the comments.
