Al recorrer los archivos y el fluir constante de pensamientos en la comunidad de Holos&Lotus, uno percibe un hilo invisible que une a sus autores: la búsqueda de la integridad humana. En este ecosistema de HIVE, se ha explorado incansablemente la diversidad del comportamiento, la gestión emocional y la espiritualidad. Sin embargo, surge una pregunta que parece flotar en el aire de nuestra época actual, una que nos obliga a mirar más allá de nuestras pantallas: ¿Qué sucede cuando nuestra complejidad interna choca contra las estructuras que intentan simplificarnos?
Entre Facciones y la Libertad del Ser
Hace una década, la película Divergente (2014), basada en las novelas de Veronica Roth, nos presentó una distopía donde la sociedad se dividía en cinco facciones para mantener una paz artificial —de seguro la recrudecerán—: Abnegación (altruismo), Cordialidad (paz), Sinceridad (honestidad), Osadía (valentía) y Erudición (inteligencia). El sistema funcionaba bajo una premisa letal: "La facción antes que la sangre". Aquel que no encajaba, o peor aún, aquel que poseía atributos de varias facciones a la vez, era etiquetado como Divergente (raro, peligroso). Y un divergente no podía ser controlado. Por lo tanto, debía ser eliminado.
Hoy, al observar el panorama global, ¿podemos decir con total certeza que esa ficción distópica está lejos de nuestra realidad?
¿Acaso los gobiernos y los sistemas actuales no han creado sus propias facciones invisibles? Vivimos en una era de etiquetas feroces. Se nos exige ser de izquierda o de derecha, conservadores o progresistas, científicos o espirituales. Si te atreves a ser un Erudito que cuestiona, pero a la vez posees la Osadía de rebelarte y la Cordialidad de empatizar con el "enemigo", el sistema empieza a verte con sospecha.
La pregunta para tu almohada hoy sería: ¿Cuántas partes de ti has tenido que amputar para poder encajar en la facción que tu entorno te exige?
El "gobierno" de lo cotidiano —que a veces no es un régimen político, sino el régimen de la opinión pública y el algoritmo— busca la homogeneidad. Un ciudadano predecible es un ciudadano gobernable. La diversidad del pensamiento humano es, por naturaleza, caótica para quien ostenta el poder. La verdadera introspección nos revela que somos seres fluidos, podemos ser profundamente altruistas (Abnegación) por la mañana y fieramente valientes (Osadía) por la tarde. No somos una sola etiqueta.
Sin embargo, en muchos rincones del mundo, la "divergencia" de pensamiento se paga cara. Aquellos que no se alinean con el discurso oficial, que mantienen una visión crítica o que simplemente deciden vivir fuera de los márgenes preestablecidos, son desplazados, silenciados o "eliminados" de la vida pública. ¿No es acaso una forma de exterminio la cancelación digital o el aislamiento social de quien piensa distinto?
Detengámonos un momento..., miremos hacia adentro...
¿Cuál es tu facción predominante hoy? ¿Es la Sinceridad, aunque la verdad te traiga problemas? ¿Es la Erudición, aunque el exceso de lógica te aleje del corazón? ¿O te sientes, tal vez, un "Sin Facción", vagando por los bordes de una sociedad que no comprende tu multiplicidad? Sí, lo sé, son muchas interrogantes.
En Holos&Lotus solemos hablar de sanación, pero la sanación más profunda comienza por aceptar nuestra propia divergencia. Aceptar que no somos una sola cosa. La paz que propone la facción de Cordialidad en la película era una paz basada en la supresión del conflicto; pero la paz real, la que necesitamos hoy, es la que surge de integrar nuestras sombras y nuestras luces, nuestras contradicciones y nuestras diversas formas de habitar el mundo. Para los creyentes, somos "imagen y semejanza de Dios", pero cada uno de nosotros es tan diferente en esencia.
¿Por qué los sistemas actuales temen tanto al pensamiento divergente? Quizás porque el divergente es el único capaz de ver el engranaje completo. Quien solo conoce la Osadía puede ser un soldado ciego; quien solo conoce la Erudición puede ser un tirano frío. Solo aquel que integra todas las virtudes puede reclamar su verdadera humanidad.
Te invito a meditar en esto: en tu lugar de vida, en tu país, en tu familia... ¿Qué facción te han obligado a elegir? ¿Y qué pasaría si mañana decidieras reclamar tu derecho a ser Divergente?
No permitas que el miedo a no encajar te convierta en una caricatura de ti mismo. La diversidad de pensamiento no es una amenaza para la paz, es la única garantía de que la paz sea real y no un simulacro impuesto por un régimen que teme a la libertad del alma.
Al final del día, como bien se sugiere en la obra de Veronica Roth, el problema no son las virtudes, sino el uso del miedo para separar a quienes deberían estar unidos. Que nuestra introspección hoy nos lleve a reconocer que somos mucho más que una categoría. Somos el universo entero tratando de entenderse a sí mismo a través de una mirada única. Y esa mirada, por definición, siempre será divergente.

When browsing through the archives and the constant flow of thoughts in the Holos&Lotus community, one perceives an invisible thread that unites its authors: the search for human integrity. In this Hive ecosystem, behavioural diversity, emotional management and spirituality have been tirelessly explored. However, a question arises that seems to float in the air of our current era, one that forces us to look beyond our screens: What happens when our internal complexity collides with the structures that attempt to simplify us?
Between Factions and the Freedom of Being
A decade ago, the film Divergent (2014), based on the novels by Veronica Roth, presented us with a dystopia where society was divided into five factions to maintain an artificial peace: Abnegation (altruism), Amity (peace), Candour (honesty), Dauntless (bravery) and Erudite (intelligence). The system operated under a lethal premise: ‘Faction before blood.’ Those who did not fit in, or worse, those who possessed attributes of several factions at once, were labelled Divergent. And a Divergent could not be controlled. Therefore, they had to be eliminated.
Today, looking at the global landscape, can we say with complete certainty that this dystopian fiction is far from our reality?
Have current governments and systems not created their own invisible factions? We live in an era of fierce labels. We are required to be left-wing or right-wing, conservative or progressive, scientific or spiritual. If you dare to be a Scholar who questions, but at the same time possess the Courage to rebel and the Kindness to empathise with the ‘enemy’, the system begins to view you with suspicion.
The question for your pillow today would be: How many parts of yourself have you had to amputate in order to fit into the faction that your environment demands of you?
The ‘government’ of everyday life —which is sometimes not a political regime but the regime of public opinion and the algorithm— seeks homogeneity. A predictable citizen is a governable citizen. The diversity of human thought is, by nature, chaotic for those in power. True introspection reveals that we are fluid beings; we can be deeply altruistic (Selflessness) in the morning and fiercely courageous (Daring) in the afternoon. We are not a single label.
However, in many corners of the world, ‘divergence’ of thought comes at a high price. Those who do not align themselves with the official discourse, who maintain a critical view or who simply decide to live outside the pre-established margins, are displaced, silenced or ‘eliminated’ from public life. Isn't digital cancellation or social isolation of those who think differently a form of extermination?
Let's pause for a moment... let's look inward.
What is your predominant faction today? Is it Sincerity, even though the truth brings you problems? Is it Erudition, even though excessive logic distances you from the heart? Or do you feel, perhaps, like a ‘No Faction’, wandering on the fringes of a society that does not understand your multiplicity? Yes, I know, there are many questions.
At Holos&Lotus we often talk about healing, but the deepest healing begins with accepting our own divergence. Accepting that we are not just one thing. The peace proposed by the Cordiality faction in the film was a peace based on the suppression of conflict, but real peace, the peace we need today, is the peace that comes from integrating our shadows and our lights, our contradictions and our diverse ways of inhabiting the world. For believers, we are ‘made in God's image and likeness,’ but each of us is so different in essence.
Why are current systems so afraid of divergent thinking? Perhaps because the divergent is the only one capable of seeing the whole picture. Those who only know Dauntless may be blind soldiers; those who only know Erudite may be cold tyrants. Only those who integrate all virtues can claim their true humanity.
I invite you to meditate on this: In your community, in your country, in your family... Which faction have you been forced to choose? And what would happen if tomorrow you decided to claim your right to be Divergent?
Do not allow the fear of not fitting in to turn you into a caricature of yourself. Diversity of thought is not a threat to peace; it is the only guarantee that peace is real and not a sham imposed by a regime that fears freedom of the soul.
At the end of the day, as Veronica Roth's work suggests, the problem is not virtues, but the use of fear to separate those who should be united. May our introspection today lead us to recognise that we are much more than a category. We are the entire universe trying to understand itself through a single gaze. And that gaze, by definition, will always be divergent.
