Hello, fashionistas!!
Let's talk about the Kimono outfit, what did you hear about the Kimono jacket?
Well, the Kimono jacket is a very stylish and simple robe,(usually a full-length robe), but it could also be a knee-length robe that has a pronounced slash in front, it could be with a sleeve or sleeveless, and it could also have a collar or not, this depends on your personal preference.
The kimono jacket can be made with any kind of fabric ranging from mesh, satin, floral print, or African print, but I love it more using African print.
The style of clothing is very versatile as it could be styled in different ways.
Kimonos can be clinched with a fancy belt or brooch.
Moving on, how then can you rock a Kimono jacket?
I will give you a sneak peek at how you can style your Kimono jacket using my lovely niece as a case study.
This girl(my niece) has been enjoying the perks of having me as a fashion designer in her life right from the day she was born, haha.
I love to make her look very beautiful and stylish and hot even hotter than her peers, My sister and I don't stay in the same State, she relocated to a very far state after her marriage and so she always looked forward to visiting me whenever she's on leave.
Finally, she came to visit me with my niece of course, and so I decided to make a kimono jacket for my niece and even styled her on different occasions when we went out.
Style 1
Kimono jacket, a white long-sleeve top tucked in on a short.
I made a short out of the leftover fabrics from the jacket.
Let me remind you that making a kimono jacket isn't time-consuming as it requires fewer fabrics and it's just a straight-to-the-point cut.
I folded the fabrics into two, like when we cut our regular basic bodice, and then marked out the neckline and sleeve, it was a sleeveless jacket.
I used her chest measurement for the width and knee length for the robe length.
I didn't use a lining for it, but it ensured I piped it using an orange color bias.
I piped the round neckline and then attached it as a rope.
And then I styled her hair too馃槂馃槂馃槂, She looked like a big girl that day and I loved the attention she got, people stared at her that day and even complimented the combo. This girl loves the picture no doubt, how she acted like she was unaware of the shot.馃槂馃槂馃槂
My model for life!!
Style 2
Kimono jacket with a short sleeve orange dress
I made a satin orange dress for her here.
A simple fitted dress with a zipper at the back.
Style 3
Kimono on a striped long-sleeve top tucked in a Jennings.
My baby rocks, doesn't she? If not for the fact, that I prefer to see her in a ball skirt to a fitted skirt, I would have probably allowed her to rock the kimono on a fitted skirt tucked in a beautiful top.
How else do you think you can rock your kimono jackets?
I love this outfit because it's comfy, and beautiful and can be worn on a casual hang out or even a date with your geng, weddings, beach date, and the like.
Did you notice how happy my niece was? And how she posed for a shot?馃槂馃槂
Well, I miss her so much, and whenever we Facetime, she reminds me to make new outfits for her oo, I am happy she would be visiting soon馃拑馃拑馃拑, a mixed feeling of dealing with her troubles and all the joy she gives me, trust me she's a handful.馃樄馃樄.
Sorry, I forgot to ask, which of her styling was your favorite?馃檴馃檴
Thanks for reading, all images are mine and the kimonos, dress, and shorts were the product of my handiwork, I made them all.
