Hello beautiful people of the community.
With excitement I will be sharing this beautiful project. I'm sure everyone loves luxury.
If you recall, I made a post about how I achieved this corset cup alone some weeks back. Here if you missed it, you can check it out.
Here are some of the materials I worked with to achieve the complete fit. Now, come along while I take you through the process.
Okay!
Every designer has a secret to achieving something beautiful. Mine is knowing body type and working accordingly.
Also know skin tone and making use of a fabric that can accentuate one's skin and make them look chic in the custom made outfit.
I made this dress with so much love as everything about it is Luxury or nothing.
This is called a skin tone lace. I got this fabric at a market called oshodi and immediately I saw the fabric, I knew it was perfect for the style.
Measurements needed are the hips, dress length, waist, front length, back length, sleeve length and bust
The mermaid dress all begins from a basic skirt pattern, which is now altered to give it a mermaid effect as seen in the picture.
When working with a lace fabric, one would need the fabric gum to secure the crepe unto the lace.
.
The has a deep neckline and an eyelet as fasteners, hence my reason for sharing with you the materials needed for achieving this dress.
It was quite a big deal to join each part with fabric gum as it even messed up my floor. A little portion can still be seen here hehe.
The next step is to join the yoke to the corset and I used a skin tone mesh to turn the upper yoke neckline to give it a natural effect.
After cutting the skirt, I joined the center back together leaving only the zipper area of the skirt.
I also attached the skirt to the upper bodice after joining and attached the sleeve as well.
It was half way done by now, so I began to bead the dress to add the luxury effect.
It was a struggle finding a perfect bead for this dress but at the end of the day. I guess this color complimented the dress so much.
Here's what it looked like at this point and it was making so much sense.
This is now the complete fit of this dress.
It's so pretty and chic and I love the beading and upper bodice design so much.
This dress brought five more clients few days after making it and I was so excited.
Sometimes, we don't need to do so much advert, our handiwork will speak for or against us.
Every designer should always pour their heart into what they do. Outfit is a booster to confidence!
Images used belong to me, outfit was cut and sewn by me.
