It is the brittleness of the frozen air
That reminds me of where the warmth
Has gone
That it has always been inside this chest.
I have put to rest
The wolves that howl
And now they breathe easy
Knowing they'll never hunger.
I feed a Fire that will never die
And as the Night drifts towards our flight
I put away these wicked charms
For these wounds are healed
I mean no harm.
These feet stumble on unfamiliar dirt
But I'm far from hurt of the raging sea
I sink now into a place unknown
Hoping to call this new land home
Hearing pleas from long lost ghosts
I know they're only hollow hosts.
