Over the years, several teams of researchers have studied the effects of coffee on the body to find out if the substance that gives us that extra boost of energy every single morning is healthy.

 Coffee: Yay or Nay?

Recent studies suggest that coffee aficionados may even live longer than those who do not consume the miraculous liquor at all, because it has the most incredible health benefits, especially the significant amount of anti-oxidants.

A study conducted in 2015 found that coffee drinkers who consume one to five cups per day have a lower risk of dying prematurely than those who chose to not drink and it’s all due to the anti-inflammatory properties found if coffee.

… And we’re just getting started

Other studies talk about the power of coffee to increase the metabolic rate by 3 – 11%, which means that a coffee drinker will have fewer weight issues or other metabolic diseases associated with obesity, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, etc.

Did you knew that… ?

Coffee can protect the brain from neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's or dementia, which generally affects people over the age of 65.

Studies have shown that those who drink coffee have a 65% lower risk of developing Alzheimer's.

In addition, the liver is also protected, according to studies that suggest those who drink coffee are 80% less likely to cause illness such as fatty liver disease or cirrhosis.

Even if increases blood pressure by 3-4 mm / Hg, the theory that coffee increases the risk of developing a heart disease it’s only a rumor. In fact, there is research proving that coffee drinkers have a 20% lower stroke of suffering from a stroke than non-drinkers.

According to a 13-year study conducted on a group with both male and female coffee drinkers, moderate consumption protects from respiratory and even diabetic conditions.

"We have noticed some surprising links between coffee consumption and the incidence of conditions that ultimately lead to death. The beneficial effects of coffee have been observed among both women and men, regardless of age and weight, or the fact that some of them were smokers or not”, revealed researcher at the National Institute of Health, Neaf Freeman.

Despite previous studies showing that coffee consumption is harmful to health, these new findings show that coffee consumption is not only not dangerous but also brings some clear benefits to people's health.

Black Coffee & its Miraculous Effects

Prof. Genkinger believes the most significant benefits come from the consumption of simple black coffee without cream or sugar.

Researchers studied the evolution of 402.260 volunteers aged between 50 and 71 years.

During the 13-year study, 52.515 volunteers died from natural causes.

"One of the difficulties is that coffee drinkers often consume alcohol", said Edward Giovannucci, professor of nutrition and epidemiology at the Harvard School of Public Health.

 The Key is Moderation

According to a previous study published by experts from Mayo Clinic, drinking more than four cups of coffee per day can cause headaches and stomach aches.

However, it seems that the popular drink contains many antioxidants and chemical compounds that can prevent an endless list of diseases.

Coffee is good for the brain: Neuro Scientists have discovered that coffee drinkers have lower risks of developing brain disorders. Similarly, researchers attribute great benefits to the polyphenols in the coffee, able to improve our cognitive capabilities.
