En horas de las 3:30 de la tarde, a pocas horas de terminar la jornada escolar, recibo una llamada del jardín, la subdirectora pregunta por mí y después de unos segundos en seleccionar las palabras adecuadas y no causar nerviosismo, narra lo sucedido. Escuché detenidamente y calmada, pero sorprendida, pregunto cómo está mi hija, si había parado de sangrar y por más información, lo usual de una madre, mi deseo era llegar para estar con Amanda. Mi esposo y yo fuimos recibidos por la directora, nos hace pasar y la reacción de mi esposo, al ver a Amanda, fue retirarse cuando vió sangre en la cara debido a un corte vertical en la frente. Un llanto de impresión de Amanda al ver a su mamá, ella pedía consuelo; al mismo tiempo, un personal de la institución cuenta lo sucedido nuevamente, haciendo tiempo a la espera del servicio médico.

At 3:30 in the afternoon, a few hours before the end of the school day, I receive a call from the kindergarten, the assistant director asks for me and after a few seconds to select the right words and not cause nervousness, she narrates what happened. I listened carefully and calmly, but surprised, I ask how my daughter is, if she had stopped bleeding and for more information, the usual of a mother, my desire was to arrive to be with Amanda. My husband and I were greeted by the director, she shows us in and my husband's reaction, upon seeing Amanda, was to pull back when he saw blood on her face due to a vertical cut on her forehead. A cry of impression from Amanda when she saw her mother, she asked for comfort; at the same time, a staff of the institution tells what happened again, making time to wait for the medical service.
En esos momentos de emergencias las horas se manifiestan lentas, entonces empecé a preocuparme por el retraso del servicio médico, la paciencia hizo pausa y tomé la decisión junto con mi esposo ir a emergencias del hospital. Resulta que había paro médico, no obstante, una médica observó a mi hija y la atendió, se comunicó con cirugía y asistieron a Amanda. Estuvieron debatiendo sobre realizar puntos en la herida porque había una parte profunda y otra superficial, hasta que hicieron pruebas de enfrentar piel con piel para ver cómo respondía y decidieron colocar adhesivo y una técnica especial después de desinfectar la zona cortada. Después los médicos entregaron la receta médica con el medicamento para desinflamar y aliviar el dolor y las recomendaciones para guardar reposo.
Estuve ahí para ella, nunca perdí la tranquilidad, pero en mi cabeza me preguntaba cómo sucedió. Amanda se comportó de maravilla, al principio nerviosa y luego interactuó con los médicos sin problema. Mi esposo, en cambio, estaba molesto y yo comprendí su incomodidad, así que tuve que dirigirme al jardín. Pedí a las autoridades que me mostraran el lugar del incidente, reconozco que hubo un accidente, pero también les hice saber que tenían un problema, por tanto, primero hice énfasis que mi hija tiene una herida que pudo ser peor; y segundo que no firmaría ningún acta hasta que el espacio reúna las condiciones y se encuentre fuera de peligro para los otros niños; además exigí atención médica para mi hija de acuerdo a la evolución, ya que la institución cuenta con un seguro.
In those moments of emergencies the hours are slow, then I started to worry about the delay of the medical service, patience paused and I made the decision along with my husband to go to the hospital's emergency room. It turned out that there was a medical stoppage, however, a doctor observed my daughter and took care of her, contacted surgery and they assisted Amanda. They were debating about stitching the wound because there was a deep part and a superficial part, until they did skin-to-skin tests to see how she responded and decided to place adhesive and a special technique after disinfecting the cut area. Afterwards, the doctors handed out the medical prescription with the medication to reduce inflammation and relieve pain and the recommendations to rest.
I was there for her, never lost my cool, but in my head I wondered how it happened. Amanda behaved wonderfully, nervous at first and then interacting with the doctors without a problem. My husband, on the other hand, was upset and I understood his discomfort, so I had to head for the garden. I asked the authorities to show me the place of the incident, I recognize that there was an accident, but I also let them know that they had a problem, therefore, first I emphasized that my daughter has an injury that could have been worse; and second that I would not sign any minutes until the space meets the conditions and is out of danger for the other children; I also demanded medical attention for my daughter according to the evolution, since the institution has insurance.
