Local Taste of Sabahan "Nasi Kerabu"

Hi all Steemitians,

After a long sick day, finally im fully recover from illness. Well, today im gonna share about Nasi Kerabu in Turmeric Cafe & Restaurant. This restaurant is located in a hidden corner at Likas Driving Range there which managed by Uncle Garry Recipe.

Turmeric Cafe & Restaurant are serve with "Turmeric Rice" which locally call as Nasi Kunyit - a wild golden ginger which bring to human are healthy and exotic and of course make the foods are more delicious too.

Before i enter to the topic, i would like to share with you some of the malay words that might be helpful when you are coming to Malaysia or Indonesia.

Rice - Nasi (na si)
Chicken - Ayam (a yam)
Beef - Lembu (lem bu)
Fish - Ikan (e kan)
Prawn - Udang (u dang)
Egg - Telur (Te lur)
Squid - Sotong (so tong)
Ginger - Halia (Ha lia)
Turmeric - Kunyit (Kun yit)
Drink / Beverage - Minuman (mi nu man)
Blue color - Biru (Bi ru)
Yellow - Kuning (ku ning)
Red - Merah (Meh rah)
So now, when you combine of "Nasi Biru / Kuning" means Blue / Yellow rice.

Now, let's go order some food!

Dessert part

New menu : Nasi Turmeric Ayam Balado which is similar as ayam penyet, but is boneless chicken.

**Come with the foods that we had order! Are you ready? **
Due to the chicken need freshly to be make, so its took us about 20 minutes and to be serve our dinner. So we are gonna have some snacks first

Kuih Pulut Sambal (made by glutinous rice and some spicy taste + spice sauce)

Kuih Pulut Ubi (made by glutinous rice and yam)

Kuih Pulut Tai Tai (This taste is more likely sweet, abit salty inside the glutinous rice, the above is seems like kaya which made by coconut)

Serve along with Magic Drinks which it was refreshing mix of sparkling water with fruity flavorurs.

Nasi Turmeric Ayam Balado

**Taste of Nasi Turmeric Ayam Balado : **

Big portion
boneless chicken
chicken meat are juicy
The sambal sauce are perfectly matching which the taste have abit spicy, sour, sweet which this combination are nice to be eat!
Due to Nasi Biru sold out, we only able to get Nasi Kuning which is Turmeric Rice only. Nasi Biru actually is a flower name Clitoria ternatea used in cooking it.

BIG PORTION this i need to be announce it!
Its have coconut shred which quite abit dry but nice to combine to eat
Egg Salt
Long beans
cucumber + carrot for pringkles
Little snacks
The sauce are soooo spicy which is totally PERFECT MATCH with chicken meat!
As you can see from the picture, there also have a side dish which im not sure what is call, but when you eat it, taste like sour abit, sweet and make you feel want to eat it all.

The reason that i chose this restaurant as i know this is the local dish which is not everywhere can eat it. So i would like to say that "Im proud to be Sabahan". Which i can enjoy our Indigenous people meals that brought us healthy, happy, gathering together with friends and families.

Operating Business Hour : Daily Mon - Sun, & Public Holiday (11.30am - 09.30pm)

Total cost : RM41.90 (Its quite pricey actually, but once in a blue moon).
