Matthew 13:1 The same day went Jesus out of the house, and sat by the sea side.
13:2 And great multitudes were gathered together unto him, so that he went into a ship, and sat; and the whole multitude stood on the shore.
13:3 And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow;
13:4 And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up:
13:5 Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth: 13:6 And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away.
13:7 And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them:
13:8 But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold.
13:9 Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.
13:10 And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables? 13:11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given. 13:12 For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.
13:13 Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
13:14 And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:
13:15 For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
13:16 But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.
13:17 For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.
13:18 Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower. 13:19 When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.
13:20 But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it;
13:21 Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.
13:22 He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful. 13:23 But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.
Jesus teaching here via parables was trying bring to light the kind of persons that exist in the Kingdom. First let us establish that a kingdom is a Domain where a king rules. So we're looking at the category of persons that make the build up of the world. As described in the Holy scriptures, they are:
The wayside People.
The Rocky soil
The thorny and carefree.
The fertile soils.
The sower is God. The seed is His Word. Luke 8:11
God through certain vessels release his word to all creation. When God speaks everything hears!
However, it is not the word we hear that transforms us, but the word we understand and apply effectively to produce results.
The Wayside People Matt 13:4 and 19
These are the ones that receive the word with dispute. They lack Understanding of the scriptures. Even the idea of God seem offensive to them. They call themselves aethists. Due to their low perception. They cannot encounter the word and the word will remain plain and silly to them. They even try to displace the word with science. The word has no residence inside of them and as such they remain ignorant. No amount of argument can convince them. This kind need prayers. They need a personal encounter with the word. The same experience that Apostle Paul had with Christ on the way to Damascus is just what they need. The transformation comes from their encounter with God on a personal level. Apostle Paul was an executioner of Christians. He encountered God and he was the most Prolific author in the New Testament, of most impact in the early church.
The Rocky Soil Matt 13:5 and 20-21
This kind are the active and constantly screaming-during-message Christians. They're what I term "Rhema Catchers". They catch every word that comes from a worded man of God. They catch his words but never experience his encounter. The word stays aloft and never nestles in their hearts because they do not have depth. No foundation in God's Word. They have just enough word go stay excited and keep shouting "yes sir, Ride on Pastor!". They even want you to be using the Christ in them for them. They see the signs you manifest and desire it. But they never attempt to fo the things you have done or make sacrifices to attain the same height as you. They talk the talk and get high on the word. Only for the effect to clear off when they're faced with challenges. They may even make attempts to grow. But since they are no foundation and strive for the wrong reasons, they call face flat, waiting for the next Rhema Catching hour to pick themselves up. They cannot stand firm and even go to length to question their salvation and faith; blown about by the wind of doctrines.
This kind need to be nutured to grow in the faith.
They need to Learn correctly. Matt 11:28-30
The Thorny and Carefree Matt 13:7 and 22.
These are the materialistic Christians. The keen to prosperity message kind of Christians. They don't want you preaching holiness. Unless you want to pour sand in the garri that they have put milk. They come to church seeking get-rich quick schemes or show off their already made wealth. They look for every slight opportunity to stand up. Only them will ease theirselves 10 times in 2 mins whole message is ongoing. They will greet you 70 times so you can observe them well. They feel God is the God of the rich. The Rich have no problems, or rich problems as it were; like what to eat in between breakfast and lunch kind of problems. They teach you how to wear Rolex. They can spot fake articles years away! They show you how to wear matching clothes and shoes. They know the lastest cars, 2017 and 2017 prime! Once they get blessed, you can't find them in the church anymore, whether it was through the church or not. If they remain in the church, then they must occupy positions where they receive praise on daily basis. They want to be Glorified!
Prov 11:28 they have faith in their Riches. Afterall, Christians should not be poor. They lust and Chase whole heartedly after the pleasures of Life.
Fertile Soil Matt 13:8 and 23
This is the result producing category. They're Christians with evidence. They command things to happen because not only do they allow the word to rest within them, they consciously act on it.
They're Kingdom stars. Dan 12:3
seek and follow instructions from the Word to the letter.
Their steps are ordered by God.
