I accepted a mission to retrieve stolen chiral density gauges from a bandit base hidden within overgrown ruins. To reach the location, I navigated the hazardous terrain of Spider Hill, encountered hostile spider-like creatures, and observed strange black water. I eventually built a watchtower to survey the enemy base safely.
I received an order to recover stolen chiral density gauges that had been taken by local bandits. These devices were essential for predicting BT movements to ensure safe future deliveries through the area, with the final drop-off location designated as the C1 South Distribution Center.
The briefing indicated that the bandit base was situated inside heavily overgrown ruins, which would severely limit visibility. I was advised to construct a watchtower near the perimeter to get a better handle on the situation and improve my odds of completing the infiltration quietly.
My route required me to pass through Spider Hill, a steep incline covered in dense vegetation between Villa Libre and the distribution center. The hill earned its name from mysterious spider-like creatures reported in the region, and I encountered these very entities immediately upon entering the area.
The creatures remained entirely harmless as long as I maintained a reasonable distance from them. However, the moment I accidentally stepped on one and caused it harm, the entire group became hostile and started charging directly at me.
After running to a safe distance to escape the aggressive swarm, I paused briefly to consume an energy drink. This allowed me to reclaim my lost stamina and recover from the intense sprint.
I resumed my journey by following the light of the full moon through the dense terrain. Upon reaching a fork, I consulted the map and noticed that the steep path directly ahead was too hazardous, prompting me to select the safer right-hand path instead.
During the trek, I passed by a pool of dense black water that formed a small lake deep inside the forest. As I observed the fluid closely, the tar-like surface appeared to lift as if trying to fly away, indicating that something unknown was definitely moving beneath the surface.
I chose to ignore the strange black water and pushed forward, but I accidentally stepped on another spider-like creature. This triggered a fresh wave of entities to chase me, forcing me to run at top speed to evade them.
After successfully scaling the steep hill, I managed to spot the bandit base situated in the valley below. I then had to navigate the opposite downward slope with extreme caution to avoid slipping or dropping my gear.
Upon reaching the designated area near the enemy base, I rushed to the suggested location and successfully generated a watchtower. This marked the very first time I had ever utilized a watchtower, as I had never experimented with the structure during my time with the first installment of the game.
The watchtower proved to be a highly effective device for surveying the surrounding environment and mapping out paths. Through the enhanced lens of the tower, I carefully analyzed the layout of the bandit camp and formulated a strategic plan for my next move.
