After tracking a demon BT up a hill, I ran out of machine gun ammo and got swallowed, triggering a voidout. I repatriated, recovered my Tri-Cruiser and safe cargo, fabricated new gear at Distribution Center Magellan, and built a generator to charge my vehicle before heading out toward the Governments Base.
My scanner kept blinking, warning me that more of those demon BTs were lurking nearby. I looked all around the flat ground, but couldn't spot a single one.
Figuring the threat was perched up on higher ground, I started scrambling up a steep hill to get a better view of the surrounding area.
Scanning the ridge, I finally spotted the monster, but it caught sight of me at the exact same time. It lunged forward like a hungry beast, catching me completely off guard.
I managed to break away, put some distance between us, and opened fire with my machine gun. Just as I was about to drop the beast, my magazine clicked empty. Before I could reload or swap weapons, the demon grabbed me, pulled me down, and swallowed me whole.
The sudden voidout triggered, ripping open the terrain and sending me straight into the seam beneath the ocean. Floating in the dark water, I saw the familiar baby version of Lou before pulling myself back to the land of the living.
I woke up right on the edge of a massive new crater. The voidout had wiped out the rest of the BTs in the area, which made me realize I probably could have just given up from the start, let the crater form, and walked safely to the Waystation.
Still, I was relieved to find my Tri-Cruiser and the special cargo intact, since having those items on my back during the blast could have ruined the whole delivery.
I headed over to the terminal at Distribution Center Magellan to recycle some extra materials and fabricate a fresh machine gun.
With my gear sorted, I hopped back onto the Tri-Cruiser and drove past the newly formed voidout zone, right where the Chiral Network signal cut out. Knowing I had a long trip ahead, I stopped to build a generator on the edge of the network.
I waited a few minutes while the power flooded into the Tri-Cruiser, and once the battery hit full, I pulled out onto the open terrain to finish my run.
