After completing Franklin's initial missions, I switched to Michael at his Rockford Hills home. Franklin stopped by for advice, but their chat was cut short when Jimmy called to report that Michael's yacht was being stolen. We gave chase down the highway, resulting in a chaotic, failed rescue.
After playing two back-to-back missions as Franklin, I decided to switch over to Michael for the first time in Los Santos. I was afar from the house so I hijacked a vintage car from the road and drove it there.
It's far more than just a standard mansion. The property allows me to save progress, store vehicles in the garage, sleep in the bed, and change clothes in the wardrobe. I could even wander around the house to take part in simple activities like watching television or grabbing a drink.
Michael noticed Amanda and Tracey getting into a loud argument inside the house. He paid little attention to the drama, choosing instead to lie down on a sunbed, listen to music, and smoke a cigar on his backyard.
He seemed to be enjoying a peaceful life until Franklin unexpectedly walked into the backyard. Michael was slightly surprised to see him and immediately asked why he had shown up. He wanted to make sure Franklin was not planning to rob him again.
Franklin quickly reassured him that their first meeting was just a car repossession job, not a heist, and mentioned that he had simply stopped by to see if Michael needed any extra help.
Michael advised Franklin to leave the street life behind and suggested that he look into going to college instead. After a brief chat, Michael offered to buy Franklin a beer at a nearby bar that he liked.
However, as we were walking toward the exit, Michael received an urgent phone call from his son, Jimmy. The young man explained that he was trapped inside Michael's yacht that he tried to sell on his own to make some quick cash, but the buyers ended up hijacking the vehicle with him still on board.
With the plans for a quiet drink ruined, Michael rushed to save his son and his stolen boat. Even though Michael had his own car parked nearby, the mission required me to take Amanda's red convertible instead. Franklin hopped into the passenger seat, and I set off toward Pacific Bluffs.
During the drive, Michael offered Franklin some cynical life advice about avoiding fatherhood altogether. The upgraded visual quality of this edition really stood out during the drive, making the city feel much more detailed than the original release.
It did not take long before we spotted the yacht being hauled away on the back of a large flatbed truck. Michael instructed Franklin to climb onto the truck as soon as I pulled Amanda's car close enough to the trailer.
Franklin made the jump successfully, but he was immediately attacked by one of the hijackers on deck. After Franklin managed to throw the attacker off the boat, I ran the man over with the car.
Another thief then began overpowering Franklin, forcing me to aim out the window and shoot the man down myself.
I tried to shoot the truck driver as well, but I could not get a clean shot. Suddenly, Jimmy scrambled out of the cabin and ended up dangling from the boom arm directly over the fast-moving traffic.
I attempted to position the convertible directly under him so he could drop down safely. Unfortunately, Jimmy misjudged the distance and jumped at the wrong moment, leading to his death that instantly failed the mission.
