Hello Everyone
This year 2021 has been going great for IPO so far because many companies have come out with their IPO and most of them have done listing with a decent price.
Investing early in any project or company has its pros and cons because it could be risky in terms of monetary loss. In this phase, we don't know much about the project or company performance, and based on the trust we put our money in.
What is IPO?
IPO stands for Initial public offering. IPO is the same as ICO or IEO in the crypto space and most of the time people who invest in this get benefits.
An initial public offering or stock market launch is a public offering in which shares of a company are sold to institutional investors and usually also retail investors. An IPO is underwritten by one or more investment banks, who also arrange for the shares to be listed on one or more stock exchanges
A total of 15 IPOs have been launched this year from Jan to 15 March and only 1 out of these 15 has got discounted listing. The rest of the companies have got premium listing and have given decent returns which usually people don't get in the stock market. Here is the list of IPO launched so far this year-
There are some more IPO that will be launched in the coming months and the dates are not yet confirmed by the companies and SEBI.
Out of all these names, LIC is the biggest one expected to launch this year or early next year. LIC (Life Insurance Corporation of India) is the biggest insurance company in India operated and its semi-government. Govt is trying to get a huge amount of money through a stock listing of LIC and expects value is approx 70k crore INR.
The report said that the price is “actually a function of capital and devaluation” and added that the government has already proposed increasing the capital base from the existing Rs 100 crore to Rs 25,000 crore.
I have been keeping a close eye on the IPOs this year and looking at the price generated makes it a nice option to invest. I wanted to invest in IRFC but later I changed my mind and this was the right decision. I was not expecting much gain with Indigo and MTAR because both companies have tough competition in the market. despite the competitive market shares got listed with nice premium and investors have made good money out of it.
I am keeping LIC in my basket and some more names I am checking for investing some money on it. I like the crypto investment but this year I have a plan to have a diversified portfolio and adding some nice stocks through IPO and even with the regular listing.
Thank you so much
