No siento ansiedad, no siento vacΓo, siento aceptaciΓ³n serena, calmada.

February 14th has come and gone, leaving with an almost melancholic farewell. It was a somewhat strange day, perhaps because from the moment I logged onto Facebook, I saw hundreds of images alluding to the celebration: images of flowers, cards, chocolates, and gifts. Hearts split in two by Cupid's arrow, angelic and unerring as ever. How many people enjoyed a feast that night after a romantic candlelit dinner?
For many, it's a day that is a pure celebration of love and partnership, but for me, it's impossible not to reflect at the end of the day. There's another way to experience February 14th: that of someone who lives alone, where the only gift is the tranquility of an ordinary day.

So let's talk about those who are able to transform solitude into fertile ground, those who learn to inhabit it. There are hearts that don't need others to beat, and that's okay, that's perfect. For many, this February 14th there were no clasped hands or walks in the park, no promises whispered in each other's ears with complicity. Instead, there was the opportunity to listen to one's own feelings, to seek reconciliation with oneself, and to discover that inner peace is a form of love as important as romantic love. Besides, we can always say that it's also Friendship Day. But why not start by being a friend to oneself?
Undoubtedly, the day began with a certain nostalgia for a time gone by, especially upon stepping outside. However, as the hours passed, the weight of those memories softened.

Love isn't limited to romantic relationships; love is in everyday gestures, in the smile of a stranger, in the music playing on your headphones as you sit in the park. Love is the energy that surrounds us; love is existence in its broadest essence, even though it doesn't always manifest itself in the most conventional way.
When night falls and the lights begin to dim, solitude becomes a refuge. There's no need to pretend, no need to meet anyone's expectations. That's why I tell you, if you're alone, don't try to force your life into the narrative of a day that doesn't just belong to couples, it belongs to love itself.
And if, like me, you sometimes remember this date with a melancholic sadness, let me tell you: there is freedomβfreedom to choose how to remember, but above all, how to live. I prefer to remember with gratitude, to remember calmly, because at the end of the day I always found peace within myself, because I loved with all my heart.

When the day ended, I undoubtedly felt tranquility, not because it was over, not because I was overwhelmed, but because I was able to sit calmly and meditate, to write these words. I don't feel anxiety, I don't feel emptiness, I feel serene, calm acceptance. I recognize that solitude is not my enemy, it's a companion, one I've learned to love and value for the wonderful moments it gives me. Thanks to solitude, I learned to listen and love silence, to discover a calm that can be as moving as the most passionate kiss. I learned that solitude isn't feeling incomplete, it's perceiving oneself as eternal, capable of sustaining oneself even when the whole world tells you otherwise.
This February 14th, I was alone, but I didn't feel lonely. I remember what was missing, and I also remember all that I have. So I'll begin by giving thanks: thank you for this space for introspection, thank you for this moment of peace, thank you for being in my own company.

And if you're looking for down-to-earth words, let me tell you: self-love is the foundation of all other forms of love, the root from which everything else springs, and without it, any other relationship becomes fragile. Loneliness can be that lover who brings you serenity, a reminder that you already possess what is essential within yourself.
Night falls and loneliness remains, a faithful companion without a doubt. The day bids farewell, but not with sadness. Today, loneliness and I are builders of calm, gratitude, and hope.
Thank you, loneliness, for giving me so much love and so many opportunities to love myself. I only hope to reciprocate by learning to love myself.
