I sat here for a while, watching the water pass by on its way to wherever it was going. The sound was its passing, the birds above and the breeze moving the trees back and forth.
It made me think about how small I was, as a human, and how careless nature is to anything but the act of living.
Some humans hope for an amazing life. They look ahead at the mountain peaks desiring to reach their zenith, for life to peak, and whilst doing so forget to actually live their life. They put it off preferring to focus on the mountain peak ahead which they must climb to reach their ideal life.
I'm the first person to talk about the value of life-goals, of the importance of planning and working towards tomorrow, but they must not be confused for life itself and we must take time to look around and truly see the life that exists around us today.
"It is not so much for its beauty that the forest makes a claim upon men's hearts, as for that subtle something, that quality of air that emanation from old trees, that so wonderfully changes and renews a weary spirit." - Robert Louis Stevenson
