Today, I will share an intense battle between monsters that deserve to be in the top rank. It was in the Gold II arena and both sides went all out for that sweet Glint.

Without further ado, let's begin!

Battle Conditions

The mana cap is 43 and there are 4 summoners to choose from: Water, Life, Death, and Dragon. With this huge mana cap, any summoner could provide an outstanding monster lineup; we can also build the deck to center around 2 tanky monsters that could be supported by every other monster and get that huge damage. I chose Death Summoner as they have amazing debuffs while my opposition picked Water and wanted the buffs it offered.

Battle Rules:-

  • Briar Patch- All monsters have the thorns ability.
  • Shades Of Grey- Only neutral monsters may be used in battle.
  • Explosive Weaponry- All monsters have the blast ability.

Battle Details

Let's start from my side:

Summoner: Thaddius Brood(Ability: Decrease in HP and Magic damage by 1 for all enemy monsters).

Tank: Mantaroth(Ability: Shield, Armoured Strike).

Ranged Attacker: Venari Marksrat(Ability: Martyr).

Magic Attackers: Magi of Chaos(No Ability), Moxian Rebel(Ability: Weapons Training)

Blocked Melee Attackers: Disintegrator(Ability: Demoralize, Trample).

Non-attacker: Almo Cambio(Ability: Immunity).

My strategy was to reduce every incoming attack and majorly damage their tank and the unit behind it using the explosion ability. I used the heaviest monster available as the tank and put the rat behind it, that way it could give the stats buff to both the tank and the magic attacker behind it. I used Rebel to give the non-attacker an attack and hence increase the overall damage output. I used Disintegrator in the middle as a second tank that would hold off the enemy should my units in the front fall.

My overall damage output per round is 8 with 0 healing. Adding in the damage from my tank's shield, the total damage from the blast would come to 18 damage per round.

Now for the opposition's turn:

Summoner: Keyla Frendul(Ability: Increase in Speed and Shield by 1 for all ally monsters).

Tank: Arkemis The Bear(Ability: Protect)

Ranged Attackers: Venari Marksrat(Ability: Martyr), Gargoya Devil(Ability: Flying, Close Range), Supply Runner(No Ability), Goblin Chariot(No Ability).

Magic Attacker: Magi of Chaos(No Ability).

His strategy was similar to mine. He also used a heavy tanker and put the rat behind it except his tank would provide a shield to the rest of his units. Additionally, he used the ranged attackers, who did not have any ability, more and thus increased his overall damage than me.

His damage per round is 12 per round with 0 healing. Adding in the damage from the blast, it would come to 19 damage per round.

Major Events

Round 1

Screenshot (1667).png

After a third of the turns had passed, my rat gets demolished and gives off that amazing stats boost thus increasing my overall damage by 2.

Next, his one falls and gives him the overall damage increase of 2 on top of the stats boost.

Round 2

Screenshot (1669).png

At the start of the second round, my Magi fell and thus it turned into a 4 v 5 with me on the ropes.

Screenshot (1670).png

After half the round passed, his tank fell and thus the tables were turned as the match progressed as a 4 v 4.

And at the end of the second round, his Gargoya falls rendering his other ranged attacker useless. That way, his overall damage falls below mine.

Round 3

Screenshot (1672).png

In the middle of the third round, my tank fell and thus it turned into a 2 v 3 as my blocked attacker became active. Hence, my overall damage only fell by 3.

And at the end of the 3rd round, his Runner fell.

Round 4

Screenshot (1675).png

After half the round, my Rebel fell flat and the game turned into a vicious 2 v 2.

Screenshot (1676).png

Then, my tank falls making it a 1 v 2.

And finally, with one swift attack from the trained attacker, both of his monsters fell thanks to the blast ability.

Results

Keeping the battle rules in mind, he should've targeted to have more HP than damage as HP is what would keep you alive in the game. If you don't have HP and only damage, your monsters will not survive rounds when attacked. Thus, he lost a game as his priorities were shifted toward damage and not survivability.
