I dove to the left, barely dodging the villain's bullets. I fired my gun, felling the attacker as I dove behind a box. I took a deep breath and checked my gun. One bullet left. I cursed and looked around for the villain. Without thinking, I raised myself out of my hiding spot just as the villain's gun sights rested on me. I dropped out of sight just as the bullet shot through the air beside me. I raised my gun, but the villain had already run behind a wall. "That's it," I muttered. I slammed my foot against the box and it fell to pieces. I quickly picked up the metal gun in front of me and loaded a bullet into it. I turned the metal gun around and triggered the trigger. It snapped into a metal part on the side. I grabbed it and started running.
I ran down a dark alley, bracing myself against the wall. I just made it to the other end of the alley, but the alley was now empty. I was invisible. I quickly ducked into the wide-open door of a building. The door was heavy, but it didn't matter as I had already seen the brown-cloaked villain closing in on me.
"I know you're there! I am going to end you!"
I held my breath as I ducked behind the overturned chair. I shook my head. I was so lucky - no one had spotted me and yet, none of the bullets had struck me. I stepped out from behind the chair just as the villain knocked the chair over. I walked over to where it was lying on the floor and raised it up. I snapped the chair in two, raising it into the air.
I walked right up to the villain, raising my metal gun as he stood before me. I aimed the bullets at him, but he knocked my gun away.
I reached out and grabbed his wrist just as he was about to shoot. He yelped as I pulled his wrist. All the villains around us screamed and started running away.
"Why are you helping me?" I asked.
"I-I… I just wanted to help… "
"Oh and have you seen someone you want to help too?"
"No…"
"What about your sister?"
"What about her?"
"Does she have super powers too?"
"Yeah…" Suddenly, I looked up.
The villain behind me had started to disappear just as I had noticed him. "I need to get to her!" I yelled.
I sprinted to the exit, where the hero waited for me on the edge of the building now floating in the sky.
"Got him," he called out. "It seems that the villain had powers that Your Majesty forgot about. We are free now!"
"Oh good! I've been waiting for this for so long."
"With all due respect Your Majesty, it is not really your power to be a hero."
"Oh, then who would I talk to about the plans for the final battle?"
"With all due respect Your Majesty, I am not a general. I just provide weapons and pay for them to be used. I make no decisions.
"Oh, I see." I looked at him again. "I guess you could go get my armor and sword, but I want you to pick them up and bring them back. We don't have much time." I walked to him and grabbed his wrist again. I pulled him towards a steel door.
What we didn't know was that the boy behind us was a villain too.
"Let go of me!" he yelled as he fought the invisible force pulling him towards me. It was not going to be that easy to capture the hero for Our Good Majesty.
"Your Majesty, you are too clingy!" shouted the boy.
"Ahhhh!" I touched the invisible person and he blinked. With a loud scream, he exploded in a large cloud of dust. There was nowhere to get him now.
The heroes laughed and cheered around the hero as he walked happily with his bodyguards.
"I guess I'll have to come back for their bodies," said the king, talking to the boy as the hero walked away.
"That was fun," said the boy, still catching his breath. "I'll go get the armor and the sword now."
He disappeared. "What do I want a sword for?" I had been to many battles. I knew that I could fight with my blaster without much trouble. "Hm. Maybe I can just go get some new armor. I can meet up with you later."
I found myself in front of a large steel door. It was heavily built and had a huge padlocked padlock on it. I could see the outline of someone standing to the left of the door.
"Having fun?" asked the voice from behind the padlock.
"N-no… yes… who...?" I was looking at myself, where I was still visible.
"You are always steal-ing…"
"No! I-I'm just picking up something that I want. I'm sorry, but… you'll have to open that first, because I don't want to waste time breaking it."
"Ha ha ha ha ha…"
"Who are you?" I asked in my booming voice.
Two claws appeared from behind the door and surrounded the padlock. "I'm the king."
"Well, then, you have to open the door! C'mon! My friends aren't that far away!" I lifted off the ground and flew over to the door.
"No can do. The doors are too heavy to just open. So what if my friends won't get to us in time?"
I put my hand on the door. "You know that I can just get you in trouble for not letting me in."
"And if I let you in, you'll kill me." I could hear the villains backing me up.
"No, I won't. I am not going to kill you."
"Ha ha ha…" The lock clicked and the door slowly opened. "You see, I am not foolish enough to believe you."
"We'll see," I said. "What is it that I am getting?"
"It's in a trunk on the top shelf. We don't really use it any more."
"Okay…"
I floated up as far as I could. "Hey, these are not the right ones!"
"Who?"
"The ones I wanted. There is another set, and they are bigger.. and… "
"King…" I yelled. "Let me in!"
"I'm not going to let you have what you want. Wait for me to open up the chest."
"But I need these right now!"
"Then use your blaster gun to open the chest!"
I lowered my metal gun. "I can't do that. You know that I'll be in trouble…"
"I don't care!"
I raised the gun and shot the lock off. I ran over to the black chest and threw it open. The body and the robes were lying right in front of me. The shield was stuck half in the bottom of the chest. I picked them up quickly and then rushed back to the entrance.
"Oh no…"
I looked at the hero. He was already coming back. I slammed the door open and stepped in. I ran to the king and pulled the old pirate in the back. The hero went to the door and tried to open it. I threw up my shield and blocked the opening as the sunlight streamed in. I threw my gun to the side and slammed the door shut. "Why did I trust you?" I asked as I walked to the king. I looked down at him. I could see the anger in his old eyes. "You knew I'd be in trouble if I stole those things!"
The hero did not give up. He tried to open the door once again. "I'm coming back for you."
I whirled around to face the boy. He was bouncing on the balls of his feet. I didn't talk to him. I was too angry. The boy disappeared. I looked back at the old man. He was sitting there, as if he hadn't a care in the world.
"Let me out of here!"
"No. If you're so determined to steal, then you'll have to find a way to take them out."
"What? No way!"
I looked at him. He was still sitting there, calmly. I looked around the room. There was a window and a metal door. I closed my eyes. I remembered what my father had taught me.
"The gun show…"
The hero wisely did not continue opening the door. I quickly flew over to the window and turned it open. I flew back to where he was and opened the door again. "Your father taught you that?"
I nodded my head, then paused. He looked as if he didn't believe me. "Yes…"
"And what else did he teach you, I wonder?" I asked. I paused. Nothing. I raised my eyebrows. "Did he give you the coordinates for the weapons factory?"
He looked at me. "Yes…"
"That's odd. I wonder why he did that."
"No, no no no."
"Where are the weapons?"
"No! I don't know, ask the king!" I started to move towards the old king.
The hero held his hand out. "No! Not you! The old king!"
"What?"
"You need to ask him!"
"He's busy. He's sitting right there." The door to the room opened and the young king stumbled out.
"How are you doing?" he asked.
"Ask your father what he knows about where the weapons came from!"
I turned to see the old armor. I pointed my gun at it. I felt strange, thinking. What was I doing? What was this? This would be such a simple job, except that they wouldn't give me the weapons. It had to be something else. And I knew just what I would ask for. It wasn't hard to think, either. I just needed to clear my mind. I raised my blaster.
"No no no no!" I could hear the two young men yelling. The younger, I supposed, was yelling at the older.
"No, you don't want to do that! You're a great man, and I know you wouldn't do this! Think about what you're doing!"
"What else can I do?"
"You could've found someone else to make the weapons for you!"
"How else can I take these out?"
"You'll just be a hostage yourself!"
I put the gun down. "Then I guess it is time for me to go."
"What?" The young man ran to the door. He held it open for me. I looked at his angry face.
The wall opened up for me and I walked out. "Call the others," I told the young man.
I arched my eyebrows. "Are they in there?"
The boy stepped back and pushed a wall open. Two of his guards ran to the door.
"Where's my brother!?" I asked.
One of the guards turned and looked at me. He grabbed something and threw it. "What is that?"
I looked at the ball and saw that it was glowing. The arm was glowing. It was beautiful. I held it in the air, lifted my blaster, and shot it. It stopped glowing, but did not fall from the air. I dropped it to the ground and sighed. I lifted the gun up and flew through the opening.
