El día de hoy les traigo una aventura inolvidable por una de las rutas de senderismo más frecuentadas aquí en Maracay y muy probablemente también en todo el estado, hablo ni más ni menos que el “Cerro del Hotel Maracay” o cómo bien sería su nombre “Serranía las Delicias”, este maravilloso lugar forma parte de Del parque Nacional Henri Pittier que recordemos, es el parque nacional más antiguo de toda Venezuela.

Today I bring you an unforgettable adventure through one of the most frequented hiking trails here in Maracay and most probably also in the whole state, I am talking about the "Cerro del Hotel Maracay" or as its name would be "Serranía las Delicias", this wonderful place is part of the Henri Pittier National Park, which is the oldest national park in Venezuela.

¿No lo sabías? ¡¡Pues vamos a enseñarte un poco de historia!! Hoy conocerás no solo el maravilloso paisaje que esconde este fantástico lugar, si no que también sabrás un poco más de su Historia, ¿Cuándo se creó? ¿Quién lo fundó? ¿Y que secretos esconde?

Well, we are going to teach you a little bit of history! Today you will know not only the wonderful landscape that hides this fantastic place, but you will also know a little more about its history, when it was created, who founded it, and what secrets it hides?

Creado originalmente en el año 1937, con el nombre de Rancho Grande por decreto del presidente Eleazar López Contreras, este parque fue el sitio de investigación más importante para Henri Pittier (insigne geógrafo, botánico y etnólogo suizo) quien dedicó años de su vida a investigar este asombroso lugar y mismo que fundó el sistema de parques Nacionales. Tras la muerte de Henri Pittier, el parque fue rebautizado el 24 de mayo de 1953 con su mismo nombre honrando y conmemorando a este insigne científico quien entrego años de su vida para plena investigación del parque.

Originally created in 1937, with the name of Rancho Grande by decree of President Eleazar López Contreras, this park was the most important research site for Henri Pittier (Swiss geographer, botanist and ethnologist) who dedicated years of his life to investigate this amazing place and who founded the National Park System. After Henri Pittier's death, the park was renamed on 24 May 1953 with his name, honouring and commemorating this distinguished scientist who gave years of his life to the full investigation of the park.

Poco se habla de los secretos que esconde este parque, intrigantes historias que han pasado de lengua en lengua y que han llegado a los oídos de los más pequeños o los más desinformados, si bien lo que voy decir a continuación no tiene base fundamental ni esta respaldado por alguna fuente confiable, queda en ustedes creer fielmente en lo que se avecina.	Little is said about the secrets hidden in this park, intriguing stories that have passed from tongue to tongue and that have reached the ears of the youngest or the most uninformed, although what I am going to say below has no fundamental basis nor is it backed up by any reliable source, it is up to you to believe faithfully in what is to come.

Niños que piden ayuda en medio de la nada, y al momento de buscarlos, las personas que han acudido al llamado de sus auxilios acaban por desaparecer y no los vuelven a ver más...
Extraños ruidos que parecen merodearte por ambos lados, y muchas veces que te desconciertan del camino original, esto, sumado a lo inmerso que a veces puede tornarse el paisaje, lo hace una combinación perfecta para hacernos pasar un muy mal rato.
Y, sobre todo, avistamientos de personas con vestimentas de años, MUCHOS AÑOS más atrás, hacen dudar de si lo que se está viendo es real o no.

Children who ask for help in the middle of nowhere, and when the time comes to look for them, the people who have come to their aid end up disappearing and they are never seen again...
Strange noises that seem to haunt you from both sides, and often disconcert you from the original path, this, coupled with how immersive the landscape can sometimes become, makes it a perfect combination to give you a very bad time.

And, above all, sightings of people in costumes from years, MANY YEARS earlier, cast doubt on whether what is being seen is real or not.

¡Pero tranquilos!	But don't worry!

Pese a que este sitio esconde alguna que otra actividad “fantástica o fantasmagórica”, el lugar sigue siendo completamente una verdadera obra de arte, como recomendación personal, les aconsejo que siempre vayan en grupo, que no se desvíen NUNCA de la ruta original y, sobre todo, que nunca hagan esta ruta en altas horas de la tarde, momento en el que se encuentra más solo todo. A continuación, podrán ver un poco más el hermoso paisaje y las increíbles vistas que posee este lugar.

Despite the fact that this place hides some "fantastic or ghostly" activity, the place is still a true work of art. As a personal recommendation, I advise you to always go in a group, NEVER deviate from the original route and, above all, never do this route in the late afternoon, when everything is more lonely. Below, you can see a little more of the beautiful scenery and incredible views that this place has to offer.

Bueno, Había que colocar un poco de misticismo, de por sí el lugar es un atractivo bastante fuerte, ahora con los datos que les proporcioné será mucho más tomado en cuenta, sobre todo para aquellos amantes de los misterios.

Well, a bit of mysticism had to be added, the place itself is a very strong attraction, now with the data I provided it will be much more taken into account, especially for those who love mysteries.

Esta zona no era muy alta, sin embargo, ya se podía obtener una vista muy buena.

This area was not very high, however, it was already possible to get a very good view.

Aquí podemos ver como la naturaleza y lo urbano combinan perfectamente, ninguna opacando a la otra.

Here we can see how nature and urban combine perfectly, neither overshadowing the other.

Con un poco más de altitud las vistas se vuelven increíblemente adictivas e hipnotizantes.

With a little more altitude the views become incredibly addictive and mesmerising.

Cielo, Ciudad, montaña, y un hermoso árbol, hacen la foto perfecta.

Sky, city, mountain, and a beautiful tree make the perfect picture.

Es una verdadera experiencia la cual recomiendo vivir al 100% y si es acompañado de amigos o familiares muchísimo más. Recuerden llevar bastante agua, un poco de comida, y ropa que los proteja del potente sol.

It is a real experience which I recommend to live 100% and if you are accompanied by friends or family, even more so. Remember to bring plenty of water, some food, and clothes to protect you from the strong sun.
