In the Southern Ural, we have excellent summer weather for the second month, and in July, the real heat began. The daily temperature reached +35 Celsius, which is an anomaly for our region, despite the middle of the summer. Global warming? Maybe. :) For a whole week, I was going to make a post about the sea, sun, and beaches; instead, I searched my photo archive for pictures of snow, snowdrifts, and winter forest. As you may have guessed, today's post is about the winter forest. ;)

Those of you who have followed my blog since the days of the old chain — a name I have already begun to forget — know that I love to shoot the forest. I love to shoot the forest at any time of the year, but especially in winter. Walking in the winter forest with a camera is my weakness. This is exactly what nature gives me for a happy existence. It is a real high.

In short, in January 2019, one weekend, I, as usual, got in the car and left the city for nature. I drove on and on, and stopped only a few hours later. I pulled over to the side of the road, shut down the engine and got out of the car. The place where I found myself looked very secluded.

What I saw there was unreal beauty. What I heard there was absolute silence. What I felt cannot be explained in words. It was quite cold and quiet, only the snow creaked underfoot. On both sides of the road, I saw a forest of amazing beauty, and it seemed to me that I was in a fairy tale. I spent about half an hour there until I was very cold.

I took many pictures then; today I chose the best ones, processed a little, and decided to share them on my blog. Unfortunately, I am not a very good photographer, so, I am afraid my pictures won't convey even a fraction of what I felt when I was there, but... I hope you like my little winter photo essay. :)

Thank you for visiting my blog!
