First visit to the vet!

Hola amigos, hoy quiero compartir un momento que estuvimos esperando por mucho tiempo, pero que se había hecho bastante difícil de lograr, ya que todo en mi país es bastante costoso, además de que en la zona donde vivo hay muy pocos veterinarios, pero finalmente conseguí uno que tenia muy buenas recomendaciones y realmente me cayo muy bien, asi que hace unos dos días llevamos a mi hermoso Tommy a consulta por primera vez, Tommy tiene aproximadamente 2 meses con nosotros y estoy muy enamorada de mi pequeño gatito, teníamos planeado llevarlo hace una semana pero al haber tan pocos veterinarios en la zona, nuestro veterinario nos agendo la cita para hace dos días y casualmente esos días pasamos por una mala situación en la que fue muy oportuno que el veterinario revisara a mi Tommy.

Hello friends, today I want to share a moment that we were waiting for a long time, but that had become quite difficult to achieve, because everything in my country is quite expensive, plus in the area where I live there are very few veterinarians, but finally I got one that had very good recommendations and I liked him very much, so about two days ago we took my beautiful Tommy to consultation for the first time, Tommy is about 2 months old with us and I am very much in love with my little kitty, we had planned to take him a week ago but since there are so few vets in the area, our vet scheduled the appointment for two days ago and coincidentally those days we went through a bad situation in which it was very timely for the vet to check my Tommy.

Hace tres días noté que Tommy estaba decaído, realmente se veía muy desanimado, en las noches siempre le gusta correr y saltar por todos lados, pero ese día no lo hizo, solo durmió y no quería comer, yo estaba muy nerviosa, pero a la vez algo animada porque sabia que al día siguiente tendríamos cita con el doctor y podríamos saber cuál era el problema. A la mañana siguiente me desperté y vi una vomito en el piso y casi me muero cuando vi una cosa larga y grande entre el vómito, era un parasito, a Tommy lo habíamos desparasitado cuando llego, pero al parecer no funciono, allí entre en crisis y espere a la hora pautada para ver al medico, estaba muy muy asustada. Además noté algunas secreciones en su nariz, eso fue lo peor para mi, imagine tantas cosas malas que no les puedo explicar.

Three days ago I noticed that Tommy was down, he really looked very discouraged, at night he always likes to run and jump everywhere, but that day he didn't do it, he just slept and didn't want to eat, I was very nervous, but at the same time a little excited because I knew that the next day we would have an appointment with the doctor and we could know what the problem was.
The next morning I woke up and saw a vomit on the floor and I almost died when I saw a big and long thing in the vomit, it was a parasite, we had dewormed Tommy when he arrived, but apparently it did not work, then I went into crisis and waited for the scheduled time to see the doctor, I was very very scared.
I also noticed some secretions in his nose, that was the worst thing for me, imagine so many bad things that I can't explain.

Llegamos al lugar, que es muy cerca de donde vivo, es una zona donde hay casas y algunos locales de comida, había que caminar bastante y fue difícil porque fuimos todos, incluyendo mi hijo, aun no tengo un kennel para transportar a Tommy asi que lo llevamos cargado en un morral, con su cabecita afuera para que pudiera respirar y mirar alrededor, obviamente se puso super nervioso, estuvo maullando durante todo el camino, pero finalmente llegamos y el doctor se presentó, nos atendió y empezó a saludar a Tommy, antes de atenderlo me pidió soltarlo y dejarlo caminar por el consultorio para que estuviera mas tranquilo, mientras tanto estuve contándole todos los problemas que había tenido ese día y también preguntándole algunas dudas sobre el cuidado general de Tommy, el me explico con mucha calma todo y efectivamente había que desparasitarlo.

We arrived at the place, which is very close to where I live, it is an area where there are houses and some food places, we had to walk a lot and it was difficult because we all went, including my son, I still don't have a kennel to transport Tommy so we carried him in a backpack, with his little head outside so he could breathe and look around, obviously he got super nervous, he was meowing the whole way, but finally we arrived and the doctor showed up, he attended us and began to greet Tommy, before attending him he asked me to let him go and let him walk around the office to be calmer, meanwhile I was telling him all the problems I had that day and also asking him some questions about Tommy's general care, he explained me very calmly everything and indeed he had to deworm him.

Mi chiquito hermoso estaba asustado, se escondía bajo las sillas y detrás de un estante, sin saber que aun faltaba la parte mas difícil.

My beautiful little cat was scared, hiding under the chairs and behind a shelf, not knowing that the hardest part was yet to come.

El doctor lo examinó, tomo su peso, me dijo que Tommy tiene 4 meses de edad y pesa a penas 1 kilo, escucho sus pulmones y le examino todo el cuerpo, me dijo que las secreciones en la nariz son causa de los parásitos, pero además de eso sintió que su estomago estaba levemente inflamado como si tuviera gases y acidez, el doctor le inyecto una medicina para mejorar ese malestar, el dijo que probablemente por eso se sentía decaído, Tommy se porto muy bien, no fue agresivo y se dejo inyectar, me dio mucho dolor cuando lo inyectaron pero era necesario, también el doctor me dijo que le gusta trabajar poco a poco, asi que nos recomendó esperar ver si el animo de Tommy mejoraba antes de desparasitarlo, no quería saturarlo con tantas cosas en un mismo día, entonces nos fuimos y al llegar a casa Tommy durmió toda la tarde.

The doctor examined him, took his weight, he told me that Tommy is 4 months old and weighs barely 1 kilo, he listened to his lungs and examined his whole body, he told me that the secretions in the nose are caused by parasites, but besides that he felt that his stomach was slightly swollen as if he had gas and acidity, the doctor injected him with a medicine to improve that discomfort, he said that probably that is why he felt down, Tommy behaved very well, he was not aggressive and let himself be injected, it was very painful when he was injected but it was necessary, also the doctor told me that he likes to work little by little, so he recommended us to wait to see if Tommy's mood improved before deworming him, he didn't want to saturate him with so many things in the same day, then we left and when we got home Tommy slept all afternoon.

Cuando despertó me sorprendió ver un cambio muy grande en su ánimo, estaba muy feliz y comió, además empezó a jugar muchísimo, realmente había funcionado lo que le inyecto el doctor, asi que el día siguiente era seguro que se aplicaría la desparasitación, volvimos a ir y esta vez fue más difícil transportarnos con Tommy, ya que ahora si se sentía bien y como estaba asustado por el ruido de la calle, buscaba las maneras de salir corriendo, pero por suerte teníamos el control del asunto, al llegar al doctor hicimos el procedimiento de desparasitación muy rápido, ni siquiera tome fotos, pero si tome fotos de regreso a casa y Tommy estaba tan cansado de intentar escapar y maullar que empezó a respirar por la boca jajajaja, parecía un perrito.

When he woke up I was surprised to see a big change in his mood, he was very happy and ate, he also started to play a lot, what the doctor injected him with had really worked, so the next day it was sure that the deworming would be done, we went again and this time it was more difficult to transport Tommy, because now he was feeling well and as he was scared by the noise of the street, he was looking for ways to run away, but luckily we had control of the matter, when we got to the doctor we did the deworming procedure very fast, I didn't even take pictures, but I did take pictures on the way home and Tommy was so tired of trying to escape and meowing that he started to breathe through his mouth hahahaha, he looked like a little dog.

Por suerte nuestra casa no queda tan lejos y pudimos llegar rápido en bus para que Tommy descasara de tanto estress, llego tomando mucha agua y acostándose a dormir, se notaba ya la mejoría y como el Tommy que siempre he visto volvía a mí.

Luckily our house is not so far away and we were able to get there quickly by bus so Tommy could rest from so much stress, he arrived drinking a lot of water and going to bed to sleep, I could already notice the improvement and how the Tommy I have always seen was coming back to me.

Aun falta colocarle una vacuna que cuesta $30, estaré en eso este mes, ya que he tenido muchos gastos, pero se que pronto podre hacer eso por la salud de mi gatito precioso.

A $30 vaccine has yet to be administered, I will be working on it this month, because I have had a lot of expenses, but I know that soon I will be able to do it for the health of my precious kitty.
