A new school year, a new uniform

Oficialmente ya solo falta un día para el comienzo de clases y hoy fuimos a comprar el uniforme, nuevo morral, cartuchera, lonchera, etc, un poco de todo. Es un gasto bastante grande pero no imposible, aun nos faltan los útiles escolares que por ahora no han dado la lista asi que aun tenemos eso pendiente… Realmente el plan era comprar pocas cosas pero mi hijo está creciendo extremadamente rápido, es imposible seguir usando la misma ropa por tanto tiempo la mayoría ya le queda muy apretada incluso las medias las ha perdido casi todas.

Officially, there’s only one day left until school starts, and today we went to buy his uniform, a new backpack, pencil case, lunchbox, etc.—a little bit of everything. It’s quite a big expense, but not impossible. We still need to get school supplies—they haven’t given us the list yet, so that’s still pending… The plan was really to buy just a few things, but my son is growing extremely fast. It’s impossible to keep using the same clothes for so long; most of them are already too tight on him, and he’s lost almost all of his socks.

Asi que decidimos que lo mejor era comprarle casi todo nuevo, incluyendo el morral y demás accesorios, asi quizás se anime mucho mas a comenzar este nuevo año escolar.

So we decided it would be best to buy him almost everything new, including his backpack and other supplies, so that he might be much more excited to start this new school year.

La mayoría de las cosas que le compramos fueron dos tallas mas grandes de las que el usa, asi le dura mas y se siente más cómodo con ropa holgada, le quedo muy bien todo. Mi hijo estaba un poco estresado, no le gusta probarse ropa jajaja, pero se puso feliz cuando fue al área de morrales.

Most of the things we bought for him were two sizes larger than what he usually wears, so they'll last longer and he feels more comfortable in loose-fitting clothes; everything fit him really well. My son was a little stressed—he doesn't like trying on clothes, hahaha—but he got excited when he went to the backpack section.

Y bueno, al final le compramos 3 camisas, un pantalón (ya tiene otro en la casa casi nuevo) un pantalón de deporte, una camisa de deporte, 3 pares de zapatos, medias, suéter escolar, cartuchera, morral, lonchera, un cuaderno y colores, aquí ya tenemos lápices solo falta que nos den la lista de útiles para comprar el resto.

Well, in the end we bought him 3 shirts, a pair of pants (he already has another pair at home that’s almost new), a pair of sweatpants, a T-shirt, 3 pairs of shoes, socks, a school sweater, a pencil case, a backpack, a lunchbox, a notebook, and crayons. We already have pencils here; we just need to get the school supply list so we can buy the rest.

A pesar de que las cosas no estaban costosas si fue bastante caro en total porque llevamos muchas cositas, se pagaron mas de $150 a crédito.

Even though the individual items weren't expensive, it ended up being pretty pricey overall because we bought a lot of little things; we charged over $150 to our credit card.

Ya estamos listos para comenzar las clases, asi que al menos es una preocupación menos para mi, no fue facil pero se logró.

We're all set to start classes, so at least that's one less thing for me to worry about. It wasn't easy, but we made it.
