This is my entry for the daily #monomad challenge
Rambusa (Passiflora foetida) is a wild plant that often grows in bushes or fields that are no longer productive. For village children, this plant is certainly not foreign, because when children play in the garden or forest they will find this Rambusa plant.
This plant that grows creeping and also climbing turns out to have a sweet fruit taste. So it's no wonder this one wild plant is much liked by children. In Indonesia, this plant has different names in different regions. Like in Aceh people call it "bak rambot bue" or "boh rambot bue" for the fruit. Both terms can be interpreted as "rambutan monkey". I myself also do not understand how the correlation is so that people involve these wild plants with monkeys.
But at first glance, this might be because the Rambusa fruit is covered with flower petals which are like rambutan skin, so it is given the name "rambot" (rambutan) and this wild plant fruit is also liked by monkeys, so it is called "boh rambot bue" (monkey rambutan fruit).
However, the content and taste of the Rambusa fruit itself does not at all resemble the content or taste of rambutan, but is more similar to the taste and content of passion fruit. Therefore, it is not uncommon for Rambusa fruit to be referred to as mini passion fruit.
Rambusa fruit is green, but when it is ripe the color turns yellow. Some of the fruit is sometimes also seen no longer covered by hairy flower petals like rambutan skin. Apart from the delicious fruit to eat, the shoots of the Rambusa plant are also sometimes used as vegetables by rural people. And it tastes almost like pumpkin shoots.
That's a glimpse of the Rambusa plant, although it is classified as a wild plant, it also holds special memories for me personally. Because when I was little I also liked to eat Rambusa fruit. :) And that's why today I chose to take some photos of parts of from the Rambusa plant as my entry on today's #monomad challenge.
