聽Hello dear #HiveDiy community, it's nice to come back here to share a tutorial I made today. I must say that I had been considering the idea of recycling jogger pants for days. Since since I bought it (about two years ago) it was a little tight around the ankles and it is something that bothers me a lot, because at the end of the day the elastic marks my ankles and it usually causes me itching and causes poor circulation , something that is not good at all. For this reason I decided to take some sharp scissors and cut it in half to make a short.
聽Once I cut it, I measured it to be satisfied with the length, so I decided to cut a little more and smooth out certain imperfections that had remained. Then I made a fold in the fabric, so that the short pants would have a hem and thus not fray and that it would be seen in a more aesthetic way.
聽Once this fold was done, I pinned the fabric so it wouldn't move and thus sew more comfortably. In my case, I sew by hand, so the most beautiful and simple way I use to make a hem is to insert the needle into a very small part of the fabric, almost like a fiber of the fabric, and then pass the largest stitch through what we have already folded and so that the seam is more resistant. This trick helps to hide the seam on the other side of the fabric.
聽You can see in the images that type of stitch to make hems.
聽We do the same in each stitch and in the rest of the pants. This would be the result:
聽The rest of the fabric that was left over, that is, the two trouser legs that were cut off, do not think that it is going to the trash, ever! What I did was open them through one of the seams on the sides, I did this with both pieces.
聽Then, I folded the fabric in half and placed a shirt on top of one of these pieces of fabric and produced a neck and sleeve pattern similar to the model shirt. I left one of them with a more open neck, since this would be the one on the front, and I didn't open that part much on the other because it's the one on the back.
聽First I fixed the blouse with pins, I measured it to be comfortable with the size and that once sewn it fits me well.
After all this procedure, I began to sew the sleeves and the sides of the shirt, I made this seam strong, so that it does not come undone while I go to measure it.
聽隆Hasta un pr贸ximo tutorial!
聽This was the result, a nice set of clothes, ideal for exercising, since the fabric is ideal for making different movements.
聽I hope you liked it and remember to recycle your clothes whenever you can, the ones that you use little or simply don't fit anymore. The textile industry is one of the most polluting industries in the world 馃審.
聽Until a next tutorial!
