LGBT Community, it is a worldwide community of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender.
It is a worldwide issue about the acceptance of this community to the norms of the society.
Discrimination is one of the toughest LGBT struggles. In Christian country like Philippines we are not recognized by the Church and the State but at least we are accepted and gained respect from the majority of the Filipinos if not all.
Respect is already a big achievement in our community. Yes, Respect because being gay, lesbian, transgender, and a bisexual is not an illness, it is not a disorder or genetic problem. We are humans. We are not sick people with contagious disease in us. We are not criminals.
To legalize same-sex marriage is an issue raised by Catholic Church and the community itself or even the other faith. In my opinion I would say NO for this but my profound respect for this goal of the community. It is against also to our Family code of the Philippines. Gender identity in the Philippines still in a limbo where the community brought up the issue to have their status be changed but I guess it an impossible dream. But for sure the community will continue its aim for that matter.
We are not a menace to the society but we bring happiness , laughter, and joy. Creating a happy society and a healthy environment as we engage ourselves to the any program of the government.
LGBT community aims for hope, for unity, and equality. We live to be happy, we are productive in our own potentials. We support organizations with different visions, we are not against to anyone’s legacy. We are capable of empowering individuals, we are in one hand to educate the hungry minds.
LGBT a beautiful community.
I am proud because I am one of them...
