In this post I want to introduce a wild plant that grows in my garden, this plant belonging to the bush, but behind it there is a remarkable function in maintaining human health, in my local language called bak trueng pachueng(Aceh-red), in the language of the Indonesia country called Ciplukan, Latin name Physalis peruviana.

Plant life.
The plant Ciplukan is native from America and is now scattered to all parts of the earth with tropical weather, in Aceh grows wild in every place, but very much found in newly opened agricultural fields, Ciplukan usually grows on land with altitude from sea level between 1-1550 m. Ciplukan is an annual plant with a size of 0.1-1 m. the leaves are single and have stalks, the leaves are round with a little oval and the tip is slightly pointed and teeth. The flowers grow single in ends or leaf's armpits, while the seeds inside the flowers are round when it is old will slightly yellow.[2]

The active chemical compounds in ciplukan include saponins, flavonoids, polyphenols, and fissile.

In the seeds there are protein12-25 percent and fatty oil 15-40 percent equipped with palmitic acid and stearic acid as the main component element.
At the root there is alkaloids, while the content in the leaves is flavonoid glikosida, whereas in bud is flavonoid and saponin.[3]
