It happens to me that when friends tell me about their day to day issues, there is a characteristic that echoes mine, and that is that when they have problems with their partners, many times they enter into a state of "law of ice.
I think it is not the right thing to maintain this posture over time, I think the best thing is to try not to pressure people and even less when they are upset, but to apply a gentle strategy that makes them lower their guard little by little voluntarily without having to enter into confrontations again.
When we do not want to interact with other people and especially if this person is our partner, it does not feel good at all, because it is like being upset with the person who precisely makes your heart feel happy, it is a bipolar feeling because for some reason they are confronted and then both sides are left in that position that is not pleasant.
is it easy to forget everything and go back to socialize with the person as if nothing happened?
To be honest ..... no, and it is not because we have a gigantic ego that does not allow us to see beyond our feelings.... It is most likely because we do not want to express ideas or have a conversation while we are in a state of anger, to avoid a compulsive word or a bad gesture that can aggravate the situation in the couple.
So we can say that maybe it is not all bad the "law of ice", the bad thing is that this situation is maintained for a long time because this could generate the beginning of a period of estrangement and cooling in the relationship that is not at all close to bring something positive to solve the problems that may exist.
I could recommend that it is not bad, to make a conclusion of the idea, is that, as long as you can maintain a balance there is no need to make the state of "law of ice" last, and be attentive to the occasions in which you can solve the issue that initially led you to discuss, but this is advisable to do at least one day later, when the emotions after the discussion disappears, since as I mentioned before, to talk again but without overcoming at least the emotional factor is a sure ticket to return to the point of departure.
In an argument it is not bad to isolate yourself for a moment while you are angry since this time helps to lower the altered emotional state in which we find ourselves and avoid enlarging the problem, but respecting that space while it lasts, is also essential since it is more than intelligent not to provoke someone who is upset ... having already lowered the emotional avalanche, the most fair and wise is to properly discuss the topic of discussion, so that both reach a point that works equally and get out of the conflict point that initially overwhelmed them.
