Waiting is such sorrow
For one sitting, waiting
Time enough to see grass grow
Moments of eternity blinking

Soft cool air dancing through leaves
Caffeine dreams open eyes
Each leaf rustling like rushing waves
These things perceived but no lies

Grudgingly you hold onto emotions of dudgeon
Sealed in deep dark soul under shaky control
Thinking of things keeps away life's dungeon
These things do take its thorny toll

Breathing life deep inside does distract
Sure it seems at times about to break
Sanity in small containers kept intact
But these dark thoughts always leak

Tree barks rough to the touch
Easily forgotten as time ages
Or points win in life's match
Turned over book pages.

Word for today.
