The light shines through the window sill
It's brightness blurs my eyes
It's strength makes me squint, their own will
I turn my head like hiding spies.

Logged in to work at my computer
My fingers are walking for me
Zeros and ones they are all a sputter
Shining light outside, calls to be free.

Half baked work, intray filled to the max
Oh how I wish for a real summers break
Inside, working my time taken, life tax
To be outside of what life we make.

With wrists aching and fingers grinding
Each individual digit, pins and needles
Computer versus window screening
Oh how I wish I was free like beetles

With the aching hands not to the butt
Sitting continuously glued to the chair
All this does is make you rut
Ready to just go ballistic, pull that hair

I smile to myself however
From the effort I put in
The struggle is real fever
To my body I sin

I end this now with little progress
I end this now to reminisce
I end this now I always digress
I end this now my head to my knees

The silver lining is here
I bid you farewell my dear friends
Its all I can do to be fair
