Monomad: Freedom

Here are some macro shots I submitted for the #monomad challenge run and curated by @monochromes.

This is a paper wasp (Ropalidia fasciata species) belonging to the Vespidae family, which was captured by me yesterday afternoon.

Even though I was so close to this wasp, which was alone, it seemed to purposefully ignore me.

It moved back and forth while chewing at the grass florets with its jaws—as if a football manager were munching gum. The wasp had complete freedom in the grassland—as if it owned it.
