I found an unfinished cowl when we moved out from our old apartment last year.
As I wear dark color clothes especially in cold seasons, it's nice to have bright color around my neck. I have quite a lot of scarfs since my stay in India but I didn't have a cowl. I like scarves but they slip off when I move around. So I thought cowl might be practical

A Very Braidy Cowl by Maryse Roudier
I remember I liked the result but at the same time, I wanted to have some more fluffiness and I was wondering I shall unravel it and knit it with thicker needles.
And yes, now it's time to do so. Last night I started unraveling it, soak the yarn in warm water and make it strait. After unraveling, the yarn was funnily curly like ramen noodles. I should have taken a photo of it. I was happy to see they are ready to use this morning.
Now I enjoy knitting the big cables. I like to knit cables ... cable obsession.
That's my project of the week.
Other than that, I have my daughter's socks on my needles. And this morning I repaired an apron I made for my partner 7 years ago. In winter I borrow his apron to serve food at a local market. My apron is too tight when I wear a lot underneath.
After the market, I washed it and found the waist bands fell off. Now they were fixed tightly.
According to my memory, to sew this apron, I ordered my first sewing machine in Germany. Good old memories 😊

昨年、引越しをしたときに、引き出しの奥から未完成のスヌードがでてきました。
寒い季節は特に暗い色の服を着ることが多いので、首元に明るい色があるといいな、スカーフは落ちてくるしひとつスヌードほしいなと編み始めたものです。
どのパターンで作ったのだろうと探したら、Raverlyの編みたいものリストにありました。ありがとうRaverly、ありがとう昔の私。私がこのパターンをリストに入れたのは2015年2月7日とのことで、約8年前です 😮
A Very Braidy Cowl by Maryse Roudier
出来上がりは悪くはないものの、もう少しふんわり感がほしくて、ほどいて太い針で編み直そうか迷っていたのを覚えています。
昨日の夜、意を決してほどき始め、ほどいた糸をぬるま湯に浸してまっすぐにしました。ほぐした後の糸は、色が黄色いこともあって、まるでラーメンの麺のようで子供とげらげら大笑いしたのですが、写真を撮り忘れてしまいました・・・。
昨日の夜は暖房が止まってしまうというアクシデントがあったものの、どうやら寝ている間に動き出したようで（セントラルヒーティングなので、建物まかせなのです）、今朝見たら暖房の上に置いていた毛糸がふわふわむくむくになっていてうれしかったです。
大きなケーブルを楽しく編んでいます。意外と複雑に見えて、数段に一度のねじり以外はほぼ裏編みと表編みのみ。それにしてもケーブルを編むのは楽しいですね。
これが今週のプロジェクトという感じなのですが、その他に、子供の靴下を編んでいたり、あと、今朝は7年前のバレンタインデーに相方に作ったエプロンを修理しました。冬になると、私は地元のマーケットで料理を提供するときにこのエプロンを借りるのです。というのもマーケットホールは結構寒くて、たくさん洋服を着ると自分のエプロンだとなんだか小さい気がするからです。
先週マーケットが終わって洗濯したらウエストの紐が取れてしまいました。せっかくなのでしっかり縫い付けました。洗濯するときは紐を結んでポケットに入れて洗うか、ネットに入れると他の洗濯物と絡まなくてよいのかも。
このエプロンの思い出はいろいろあるのですが、バレンタインデーだけでなく、これを縫うためにドイツで初めてミシン買ったんですよね。それまでは相方のお母さんや友人のものを借りていました。懐かしい 😊
