It's the third time I visited the market during my stay in Linz.
Here is what I bought from the market today:
I'm happy to try different food every week. What I bought in the last weeks were ... From the colors I notice that spring is coming at least to my heart and stomach.
In addition to shopping, I enjoy talking with sellers. This is something special about weekly market.
To welcome my family, I bought a bottle of honey from a beekeeper Mein Honig who works in an Austrian national park. The honey I bought has a romantic name "Alpen Rosen Honig" (alps roses honey). They offered me their honey vodka. It was vodka, we know as a strong liquor but with mildness of honey. I will buy some mini bottles of the honey vodka next week as a souvenir to Germany.
Another interesting food was the round small bread I bought at a farmer stand to buy farmer's bread. It was my first time to see the bread. I was told that it made with potatoes and poppy seed sweet filling. Another visitor to the stand was buying it. So I bought it for my snack.
The poppy seed filling, which is also used in Germany for pastries and breads, had a familiar taste and fit very well with the moist bread dough with potato. I bake a lot of bread, but I have never put potatoes in the dough. I would like to try baking bread with potatoes when I am back home in Germany.
I thought about keeping half for tomorrow but I couldn't stop myself ... I really like the bread part together with the filling.
I look forward to cooking with the food I bought today and having meals with my family after two weeks.

金曜日はマーケットの日です。リンツのマーケットを訪れるのももうはや3回目です。今日、マーケットで買ったものはこんな感じです：
毎週違う食材を試すようにしています。ここ数週間で買ったものの写真も。
色合いから、少なくとも私の心と胃袋には春が近づいているようです。
マーケットのたのしみは、買い物だけでなく、お店の人とあれこれ話せるところにもあります。
今日は養蜂家のスタンドではちみつをいろいろ見せてもらったり、ウォッカを試飲させてもらったり（！）しました。いいスタンドだなーと過去2週間眺めていたのですが、家族が来るので蜂蜜を買うことにしました（父ちゃんは毎朝パン＋はちみつかジャムなのです）。その養蜂家は、オーストリアの国立公園ではちみつを作っている家族でMein Honigというブランドではちみつやはちみつを使った製品を作っています。いろいろな蜂蜜があったのですが「アルプスのバラの蜂蜜」というなんともロマンチックな名前を気に入って、一瓶購入しました。今日はコンピューターがリュックに入っていたので、来週また来てはちみつを使ったウォッカのミニボトルをドイツへのお土産に買おうと思います。
父ちゃんの故郷のものと似たファーマーズブレッドを売っているスタンドがあったので、今日はここでパンを買うことにしました。大きなパンの横にかわいいおやきのようなパンが並んでいました。初めて見るパンで、どんなパンか聞いたらケシの実の甘いフィリングが入っていて生地にはジャガイモが入っているとのこと。スタンドに来た他のお客さんも買っていたこともあり、私もおやつに買ってみました。
ケシの実のフィリングは、ドイツでもよくお菓子やパンに使われているものと似た親しみやすい味で、ジャガイモ入りのしっとりしたパン生地ととてもよく合っていました。パンはよく焼きますが、生地にジャガイモを入れたことはありません。ドイツに帰ったら、じゃがいも入りのパンを焼いてみたいです。
半分は明日に残しておこうと思ったものの、やめられませんでした（あるある）。しっとりしたパン生地とケシの実のフィリングがとてもよくあっています。
今日買った食材で何を作ろうかな。2週間ぶりに家族で食事をするのも楽しみです。
