NWM 2023 year end challenge: who inspired me

When I read the 2023 year end challenge post by @needleworkmonday, I thought I must participate in it.

This year, I missed @neumannsalva, one of my favorite needle workers in this group. She was one of the oldest participants. Her posts made me laugh a lot and gave me tons of inspiration ... I'm glad I still can see her posts on Instagram.

Coming back to Needlework Monday, I must say all the posts and people here are definitely inspiring. But I must name one person. @kesityu.fasion inspired me the most this year.

She does her needlework while she is traveling on bike! First I was surprised to see her also in the cycling community when I started biking with a sporty bike again this year. Not only her needleworks but also I enjoyed seeing scenery in the background of her works ... and the sweets from the places she traveled. I was tempted many times and bought a lot of middle eastern sweets this year 😁 They are good handy accompanies for needlework especially for cold seasons like now.

Her posts encouraged me that I don't have to give up needlework while I'm traveling. I felt like being a nomad again like I was before my daughter was born. I couldn't help thinking about portable needlework projects such as sock knitting, embroidery etc.

I think traveling needlework is calling me. As my first baby step, I traveled to Austria by myself and worked on Knitting + AI project for a month this year. My suit case was full of knitting needles. I wish this kind of chances come more next year.

Other than Kesityu, I was often amazed by @monica-ene 's design skill and accurate sewing technique. I respect her entrepreneurship too. And I appreciate @shanibeer that she gives me right, encouraging, smile making and make me think kind of comments also for posts to other communities 😊

That's about those who inspired me this year. I look forward to writing about the other year end challenge topics.

今年は @neumannsalva さんがなくて、とても残念でした。彼女は古参の一人で、同じくドイツで実際一度お会いしたことがあるのです。彼女の投稿には本当にたくさん笑わせてもらい、たくさんのインスピレーションもえました。Instagramでは定期的に投稿されているので、写真を見て楽しんでいます。

さてさて、Needlework Mondayに戻ると、どの参加者もどの作品もいいのですが、一人を指名すると、やっぱり @kesityu.fasion さんになります。

なんと彼女は今自転車で旅行しながら針仕事をしているのです！今年、私がスポーティーな自転車にまた乗り始めたとき、彼女もサイクリングコミュニティにいるのを見てうれしくなりました。Needlework Mondayの人の中でガーデニングコミュニティなどでご一緒する人はいるのですが、サイクリングコミュニティにもいた！と。

彼女の針仕事だけでなく、作品の背景にある風景や彼女が旅している場所のお菓子を見るのも楽しかったです。私は何度も誘惑に負け、今年はたくさんの中東のお菓子を買いました 😁 小さくて甘さがぎゅぎゅぎゅーっという中東のお菓子は特に今のような寒い季節の針仕事のよいお供です。カロリー大爆発なので春になったら自転車にはきちんと乗らないと・・・

Kesityuさんの投稿は、旅行中でも針仕事ができることを教えてくれます。私も子供が生まれる前のように、またノマドになりたいなと思い、持ち運べる針仕事のプロジェクトについて考えずにはいられませんでした。

旅行中の針仕事が私を呼んでいると思います。今年、私は最初の一歩として、オーストリアに一人で旅行し、1ヶ月間、編み物+AIのプロジェクトに取り組みました。私のスーツケースは編み針でいっぱいでした。来年もこのような機会がもっとあることを願っています。

Kesityuさん以外では、@monica-eneのデザインスキルや正確な縫製技術に何度も驚かされました。彼女の起業家精神も尊敬しています。そして、古参の@shanibeer さんの的確であたたかいコメントにはいつも考えさせられます。彼女のユーモアも好きです。

以上、Needlework Mondayコミュニティで特に今年インスパイアされた人たちでした。他の年末チャレンジのトピックについても来週以降書くのが楽しみです。
