... Actually it's not sewing shoes from scratch. I was repairing my winter leather boots as stitches in the side came apart.
I bought the boots just before I attended Steem Fest in 2018. I wore it quite a lot in autumn and winter. It doesn't have a high heel and is comfortable for walking around 😊 I started liking low heel shoes in my late 30s.
I took out my upholster needle to repair my boots. It is not easy to sew this kind of flat surface with a regular straight needle. I carefully saw the original stitch holes and traced them.
After an hour of hard work, both were finished The repaired part is shown in the pink circle. Not too bad? 😁 Just my fingers are aching ... but it was well worth doing.
I hope it doesn't come apart again and I can wear the boots for many more years.
タイトルはちょっと釣りっぽいかもしれません・・・一から靴を縫ったわけではありません。ブーツのステッチがほつれていたので直したのです。
平面というか曲面を縫い合わせるのはなかなか難しく、椅子を修理した時に買った曲がった針を使って縫いあわせました。元のステッチの穴をみつけて、目打ちで少し大きくして1針1針硬い皮を縫い合わせていくのは結構大変でした。黒いブーツに黒い糸で、穴や糸を見にくかったのもあります。指も痛い・・・
でも格闘したかいあって、二足とも同じところがほつれていたのを直せました。このブーツは4年前にSteem Festに参加する直前に購入して、秋冬毎年よく履いて、Steem Festにも履いていった思い出深いブーツです。30代後半からはもっぱらヒールのない靴を履いてたくさん歩くようになって、このブーツもその一足です。
今回うまく直せて、このブーツでまだまだ何年も歩き続けられるといいな 😊
