Hello friends! How are you all? I hope you are all doing well. I am also doing well. Today I am back again with a new post. Today I made something with crochet again. For the first time in my life I made a crochet bag. This bag turned out really beautiful and neat. So I thought I would share its tutorial with you all. Making this bag is also quite easy but it is time-consuming. It took me around three days to complete this bag. However I was making it with breaks in between so I don't know exactly how many hours it took me. But it took me three days. I think if your speed is a little faster you can complete it in three or four hours. My speed is not very fast so I think it took me around four to five hours.
Actually I wanted to make this bag completely in white but I had very little white yarn left. So unfortunately I couldn't make it completely white. But next time I will make a completely white bag too. In the future you will also see its tutorial. So now without wasting much time let's start making this cute bag.
Making the Base of the Bag
So guys first I took white yarn to make this bag. Then I made 33 chains with the white yarn. By the way I was using three yarn strands at a time to make my yarn a little thicker. If your yarn is already thick then you don't need to use three strands.
After that I skipped one stitch and made double crochet stitches in all the remaining stitches. Then in the last stitch I made three more double crochets. This means we have to make a total of four double crochets in the last stitch. In the same way I made double crochet stitches on the other side too. Then I made four double crochets at the end. And this way our first row is complete.
Now in row two we will make single crochet stitches again. After making 30 single crochet stitches we will make three double crochet increases. Then after making 30 double crochet stitches again we will make three increases on the other side too. And this way the base of our bag will be ready. We will complete the base of the bag with a slip stitch.
Making the Main Part of the Bag
Now comes the main part of our bag. First we have to make two chains at the beginning of the row. Then we have to make two double crochets. After that we make one chain and skip one stitch because we have made a chain in its place. Then again we make two double crochets and one chain. We skip one stitch for the chain. In this way we have to complete the whole row with the same pattern. Two double crochets and one chain.
After completing the whole row we will use exactly the same pattern in the second row. We will make double crochets above the double crochets and make a chain where we made a chain before. This way we will get small holes in our bag.
You can choose whichever colour you want for your bag. If you want to make it in multiple colours like mine then you have to change your yarn after every three rows. The rest of the process is the same. You have to make double crochets and then make a chain. Remember to make two chains at the beginning of every row before starting the double crochets.
Okay so now I have made 15 rows. You can make fewer or more rows according to your choice. If you want a bag that looks more like a tote bag then you can make 20 rows or even more. It is completely up to you. When I made 15 rows the bag turned out to be a decent size.
Making the Strap
Okay so now our bag is ready. Now we will make its strap. To make the strap you can make as many chains as you want depending on how long you want your strap to be. I made around 200 chains. After making 200 chains I made double crochet stitches across the whole row. Then I stitched it to the bag with the help of a needle.
Adding the Pink Ribbon
Now I took a pink ribbon from the shop. Then with the help of a needle I inserted it into the strap. The ribbon was left on both sides so I made bows with it. I inserted the ribbon into the strap like this by skipping two stitches each time.
Adding the Zipper
Now it is time to add a zipper. This part is optional. If you want a zipper you can add one. If you want a button you can add a button. And if you don't want to add anything that is also fine. I used a zipper and stitched it properly. You can also attach it with glue but it may not last very long. That is why I stitched it.
Final Result
And this way my cute little bag is ready!
