In May I made a long sleeve shirt for my daughter. I found it's quite practical for a fresh summer day. It's too cold to wear a T shirt and a cardigan but it's too warm to wear a jacket.
Last week I came across a 50% off sale at a fabric store. Yeah! It's time to sew another one.
I like the simple pattern I made by modifying one from a book to fit to my daughter's body and her preference. She likes relaxed shape especially around neck and body ... also now she tries to wear clothes by herself so her clothes should be simple (easy to repair and strong).
It takes half a day to make one. Not too bad :)
And there is another good thing. I found a way to reuse leftover fabric in my garden. If you do gardening and sewing, the following post may be of your interest:

Here in the end, I must show you how the grow bag I made last week turned out. The hole for plant could be a bit higher but I'll see how it works :)
Ya, that's my Needlework Monday!
2ヶ月ほど前に縫った子どものシャツが微妙に涼しい日に便利で、街の布屋さんの50%オフセールでいい布を見つけたこともあり、もう一枚縫いました。
このシャツの型紙は日本の子ども服の本の型紙をアレンジしたもので、何をアレンジしたかというと、首回りと胴回りをややゆったりさせて(ぴったりが嫌い)、手を動かしやすくかつカジュアルに袖山を低くしました。マスターパターンとして落ち着きそうでうれしいです。お尻にスナップのついた赤ちゃん下着はお腹や背中が出なくてよいけれどそろそろ卒業かな、そんなこんなで冬までにあと1、2枚縫うことになりそうです。
今回このシャツを作りながら、これまで捨てていたどうしようもなく細い端切れの使い方をみつけました。YouTubeで着古したTシャツを使っていた人がいて、これだ!と。庭で植物を支柱にくくるのに使えます。
あと、英語投稿の最後の写真の通り、先週作った布製の鉢もどきにレタスの苗を植えました。穴が若干したすぎるかなという気もしますがどうなるかしばらく水やりと観察をしてみようと思います。
