A Quiet Summer Residency, Hello from Seiffen! / 自然の中での静かなレジデンシー

Last weekend, I arrived in Seiffen, Germany, a town famous for its traditional wooden craftsmanship, for an artist residency.

We had a welcome gathering in the weekend, an orientation on Monday , and yesterday I finally started making things. I jumped back onto the wood lathe for the first time in a while—carefully, but excitedly. It looks like this summer will be filled with making, surrounded by nature and two fellow residents.

I enjoy living and creating in the city, but I'm also looking forward to this quiet time to focus on myself and my work.

先週末からドイツの木工で有名なザイフェンという街に制作滞在をしています。

週末に歓迎会があって、昨日オリエンテーションがあって、今日から制作本格スタート。さっそく手を動かして、久しぶりの木工旋盤におっかなびっくり取り組み始めて・・・自然の中で同期3人と制作する夏休みになりそうです。

都市での生活や制作も好きですが、静かさの中で自分と、作品と向き合う時間を楽しもうと思います。
