Education is of utmost importance when making a choice of a life partner. Your should make sure that both of you are on equal footing or if you have a first or second degree, you should make sure that your intended partner has at least a first degree or intends to get one.
I counseled a lady in one of the Africa countries who had this problem in her marriage. She married a guy who had told her that he had a first degree and was self employed, but would love a white collar job if he gets one. So, the lady, in a hurry to get married settled down to a married life with this guy. Years later, the lady found out that the guy does not have the qualification he claimed he had., how did she find out? A job opportunity came in an organization where the lady's brother works, this lady approached her husband, and told about the job opportunity, intimating him that the brother was willing to help them.
It was at this point that the husband confessed to the her that he does not have the required qualification, that he only lied to lady so as to get her to marry him. Be sure before you leap!
