Prologue
My dearest readers, I'm keeping this quite short today (by my standards). In my family there was a heavy blow of fate which affects my beloved sista, so I will write less personal words and concentrate on facts of art. I have to digest the situation first. Nevertheless, I try to go out and enjoy the beautiful things of the world. I just ask for your understanding that I may not write as much or upload 1000 photos as usual on wednesday. Hopefully you still should have enough impressions to see.
concentrated on ART
The "sea wolf" #sculpture has no specific address, by looking for it on the map it said the address which I put in here. But it is really close to Bélem and the Harbor.
Promise.
The artist of this wonderful sculpture is Luke Marston.
This sculpture is a kind of homage to the Portuguese-first nations roots of Luke.
The Sea Wolf is a cod lure that was even cast in bronze at the behest of the Portuguese Ambassador to Canada for an exhibition in Lisbon. First of all, the Sea wolf was a detailed carved wooden sculpture. Its depiction shows both a dorsal fin and cod being washed by ocean waves.
The Sea Wolf represents a counterpart to Marston's Shore to Shore, which in turn is located in Stanley Park in Vancouver.
Feel free to check out the artist's website, there is more about it and it is very interesting to read.
I really like this sculpture myself. You can clearly see the roots of the artist.

This project was created in honor and celebration of the centenary of the birth of Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen and realizes the memorial "Space between Word and Color" in collaboration with the Lisbon City Council.
The memorial is located in Belém and brings together a fine selection of Sophia's poems written on tiles, selected by Maria Andresen Sousa Tavares, the two large artworks are created by the artist Menez.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Mayor of Lisbon, Fernando Medina, the President of the Municipal Council of Belém, Fernando Ribeiro Rosa, Maria Andresen Sousa Tavares, Guilherme d'Oliveira Martins and Helder Macedo.

This monument is in honor of Amália Piedade Rodrigues, who lived from 1920-1999, and is known as the greatest Fado singer of all time. Fado is very popular throughout Portugal, it should be noted. Therefore, this bronze sculpture on a stone pedestal has been dedicated to the late singer. The sculpture is called "Guitarra na Proa -Homenagem a Amália, ao Fado e a Lisboa" (Homage to Amália, Fado and Lisbon).
This work was created by Domingos de Oliveira and finally presented to the public on April 14, 2000, as far as I know.
