She is a quieter specimen, the night.
Not showy, nor grand, nor radiant, nor bedecked in golden light.
Her whispers begin at sunset, with a call to retreat from the day’s events,
from commitments and deadlines and urgency.
She guides you to the shrine of your subtle inward pull:
urges rest and reflection above all other things.
Go gently. Sit down. Let the growing dark lead you into the nebulous world of dreams.
She will meet you in the world of the in-between.
A response to @mariannewest’s freewrite prompt, moon shadow.
