Hi everyone! 馃憢 How are you enjoying your weekend so far? Today was surprisingly sunny in Lithuania, so we went for a walk to Kernav臈 - which is an archological touristic attraction and former medieval capital of Lithuania.
You might not know much about this place, and I am shocked that not a lot of people choose Lithuania as an attarctive place to visit, but this little town was actually included in the UNESCO world heritage list in 2004!
There was not a lot of people today, but it is a beautiful place to visit if you love exploring historical places and enjoy some nature with it. During summer, there are some events there like medieval re-enactments and open-air museums.
The medieval re-enactments normally happens on the 6th of July, which is the Mindaugas coronation day here in Lithuania - the first known Grand Duke of Lithuania.
Today we were focusing more on just walking around and enjoying the nature and sun - but I am not going to lie it was a bit cold and windy.
It was my first time in this place, I loved it so much but it is way better to come in summer, as it is also next to the Neris river and seems like a lovely place to have a picnic while enjoying the view.
Later on we went to get some nice traditional Lithuanian food. I had some mushroom soup in bread bowl and one of their famous cepelinai, which I love. Oh, and I obvioulsy didn't forget to get some nice warm yellow sea buckthorn tea!
How are you spending your Saturday?
