Photos are sparks of memories, especially those photos of long ago. People we have lost, memories perhaps that have faded.

I like your question,"Who am I taking these pictures for..." That was in my head when I wrote this. It think social media has made photo taking perhaps a little toxic. No longer do we capture photos for ourselves, for our photo albums. We capture them for others. That takes away the uniquely personal nature of the picture. That truly does objectify experience.

Yes, leave that camera home sometimes. Take a picture in your head. For heavens sake, you're a writer :) If anyone has a head for vivid impressions, you do.
