For several months now, Venezuelan movie theaters have decided to re-release films that were well received in their time. Movies either Venezuelan or from any other part of the world, that were released a couple of years or decades ago, for no apparent reason, something that from my point of view was both a lack of respect and negligence on the part of the people in charge of the theaters, since with so many good movies being released month after month all over the world, choosing to release something that has already been released years ago is, to me, a lack of respect for the movies that are in theaters now. However, lately things have happened that have made me change my mind.
Ten years ago was released what is possibly the most important science fiction film of the century, Interstellar, and for its tenth anniversary there was a worldwide re-release that came to theaters in Venezuela in Imax and in original form as well. This made me see the film in a different way, because although it is true that it is not one of my favorite films of the director, the truth is that having seen it in theaters changed my perspective, it made me cry and in turn I understood Nolan's insistence to see his films in theaters, since it is totally an experience that I appreciate and that makes you appreciate the film in a different way, either by the images, by the collective euphoria or by the sound, having seen Interstellar in theaters made me want to write this post, it made me understand why it is one of the most important films in history and why it has so many fans around the world.
The other movie that changed my mind with this was Seven, which was re-released a couple of days ago and I've been very surprised to the point of thinking that I haven't seen many of the movies I've seen right. Because most of the times I've seen Seven it's been because I encounter it on TV, the audio for me in theaters was something completely different. I also have to say that I have read that for the re-release of Seven several things were improved such as audio and picture quality, with more obvious grain and a very noticeable restoration for the type of screens that now project the films.
Well, on my birthday, in December, one of the movies that shaped my childhood was also released and this is interstellar 55555, the anime movie that compiles the entire Discovery album by Daft Punk, and that I would have liked to see in theaters. Along with this and due to the re-releases I have seen in theaters, I thought of several movies that I could not see in theaters in its passage through the billboard and now I just want them back to enjoy them on the big screen, as it should, with good sound and in the best possible quality.
Hace ya varios meses que en los cines venezolanos se ha tomado la decisi贸n de reestrenar pel铆culas que tuvieron un buen recibimiento en su 茅poca. Pel铆culas ya sea venezolanos o de cualquiera otra parte del mundo, que se estrenaron hace un par de a帽os o hace d茅cadas, sin alguna raz贸n aparente, cosa que desde mi punto de vista era tanto una falta de respeto como una negligencia por parte de las personas encargadas de los cines, ya que con tantas pel铆culas buenas que hay estren谩ndose mes a mes por todo el mundo, elegir estrenar algo que ya se ha estrenado hace a帽os es, para m铆, una falta de respeto para las pel铆culas que est谩n en cartelera ahora. Sin embargo, 煤ltimamente han pasado cosas que me han hecho cambiar de opini贸n.
Hace diez a帽os se estren贸 lo que es, posiblemente, la pel铆cula de ciencia ficci贸n m谩s importante del siglo, interstellar, y por su d茅cimo aniversario se hizo un reestreno mundial que lleg贸 a las salas de Venezuela en Imax y de forma original tambi茅n. Esto me hizo ver la pel铆cula de otra forma, porque aunque es cierto que no es de mis pel铆culas favoritas del director, la verdad es que haberla visto en cines cambi贸 mi perspectiva, me hizo llorar y a su vez entend铆 la insistencia de Nolan por ver sus pel铆culas en cines, ya que es totalmente una experiencia que agradezco y que hace que se aprecie la pel铆cula de otra forma, ya sea por las im谩genes, por la euforia colectiva o por el sonido, haber visto Interstellar en cines me hizo querer escribir este post, me hizo entender porque es una de las pel铆culas m谩s importantes de la historia y porque tiene tantos fan谩ticos a lo largo del mundo.
La otra pel铆cula que me hizo cambiar de opini贸n con esto fue Seven, que se reestren贸 hace un par de d铆as y he quedado muy sorprendido hasta el punto de pensar que no he visto bien muchas de las pel铆culas que he visto. Debido a que la mayor铆a de las veces que he visto seven ha sido porque me la encuentro por televisi贸n, el audio para m铆 en cines fue algo completamente diferente. Tambi茅n tengo que decir que he le铆do que para el reestreno de Seven se mejoraron varias cosas como el audio y la calidad de fotograf铆a, con un grano m谩s obvio y una restauraci贸n muy notable para el tipo de pantallas que proyectan ahora las pel铆culas.
Bueno, en mi cumplea帽os, en diciembre, tambi茅n se estren贸 una de las pel铆culas que moldeo mi infancia y esta es interstellar 55555, la pel铆cula anime que recopila todo el 谩lbum Discovery de Daft Punk, y que me hubiese gustado poder ver en cines. Junto a esta y debido a los reestrenos que he visto en cines, pens茅 en varias pel铆culas que no pude ver en cines en su paso por la cartelera y que ahora solo quiero que vuelvan para disfrutarlas en la pantalla grande, como se debe, con un buen sonido y en la mejor calidad posible.
