Several centuries ago, ancient China wanted to secure its borders from its northern invaders. They had a plan. They built a great wall to protect the border. It was so thick that no one could knock it down. It was so long that no one could get around it. They posted soldiers at different places. It was built wide enough on the top for chariots to patrol. If they heard of an attack at distant location, they could easily get to it. They were up high giving them a superior advantage over their enemies. They knew that they had protected their borders sufficiently against all enemies.
But, in the first 100 years of the Great Wall of China, the nation was invaded three times. How? What happened? Did an enemy bribe the gatekeeper and entered into the land undetected? A food for thought...
Unity is the biggest need of any living kind, be it Humans or any other living being (birds or animals). Togetherness is require to face certain short comings and critical situations of life. A single person or entity physically too powerful can't survive alone and cannot face different circumstances in life alone. A person always needs someone and by being united even a physically weak person or entity can also face certain negative situations in an easy and efficient manner with just a help. Unity is a formidable Bond that can pull down every form of impossibilities. Love, Trust, Obedience, believe in one another are keys to Unity.
A Tree can never make a Forest, United we Stand, divided we fall.
The story of the Great Walls of China has many lessons, Building the Wall was as a result of Unity but lessons in life has shown me that for the success of every Union, there is usually a price. To achieve Unity you must work it out. You could wonder after building a formidable Wall, intruders still found their way into the city, something must have gone wrong somewhere. There are so many factors that could hinder unity such as; greed, disobedience, distrust, pride, lack of intergrity and hatred, these are the killers of Unity.
The world will be a beautiful place if we could all see Unity as a driving factor, Love is one factor that breeds Unity, Wars and Terrorism will be a thing of the past if Love and Unity is our way of Life.
