Into The Bush
WALKING A DIFFERENT PATH AND BUMPING INTO SPRING
Greetings,
I took a different path today during my walk (my daily exercise). I actually too public transport for half an hour away from my neighbourhood to a different part of the London outskirts.
I decided to walk through a patch of bush, which I wasn't even sure I was allowed to do, for a different experience. I immediately regretted it though, since I was scratched and dinged by thorns and sharp branches. I decided to keep going though, until I reached a pond, which forced me to exit unto a side road for the rest of the walk.
I walked along the pond for a while before seeing any signs of where I was. There was actually a pretty nice residential estate on the other side of the water. I can imagine this natural scene added a fair bit to the value of the properties in that estate, which looked relatively new. Like any neighbourhood in London, however, I bet the properties are outrageously expensive. I had a quick look at the house prices yesterday, as displayed in the window of an estate agent on the high street, and basically walked away shaking my head. Who's paying these prices?
I decided to walk through the residential estate, which had a lot of green spaces, and noticed the naturally growing flowers were all blooming quite nicely. I don't care what the calendar says, but Spring is well underway here in London!
There were also patches of flowers that were clearly planted, not growing wild. You can tell by the neat order and remnants of elevated soil that were the flower beds.
I finally found a train station from where I could link the Underground to get home. Shame it wasn't a Saturday though. There was a community building next to the station with a very attractive sign up, but I missed the window by a couple of days :)
Peace & Love,
