Starting in this ecosystem can be challenging and a lot of newbies have been discouraged at their early stages.
One important thing a newbie should know is that, acknowledge the fact that you must begin from nothing and understand that there's a learning process.

In this ecosystem, everyone started as a newbie. Even the whales started from scratch. The hardest stage in every facet of life is the beginning stage, once you can pass the beginning stage, you are on the right path to success.

The First Step

        Ask For Mentoring And Guidance

In my opinion, this should be the first step in the Hive ecosystem. A lot of newbies are being abandoned by their on-border. This is a Web 3 platform, it's quite challenging to understand the ecosystem without being mentored.
Unlike the Web 2 platform, you can open an account and read about how the platform works and start using it.

Ask a lot of questions from your on-border and if you are not getting attention, then you need to seek another mentor.
There are a lot of things to learn as a newbie in this ecosystem.

A few important rules are, how to avoid problems from Hive watchers, knowing that plagiarism is a serious offence, how to navigate through various communities and understand their rules and regulations, understand the necessity of power up, how to engage with others and increase visibility, etc.

When I started blogging in this ecosystem, I asked for guidance from a few old members. Some responded, while some ignored, but I stayed glued to the members that responded very well and I always disturbed them with my questions. This makes my early stages in this ecosystem to be interesting and I'm always grateful to my mentors.

         Do Not Compare

Comparing yourself to others can destroy your beginning stage in the Hive ecosystem. When you check other author's posts and you see a huge payout within a few minutes. Then you started comparing yourself with the members that have been active for 3 years and above.

Do not compare your chapter one with another person's chapter 4. Just focus on yourself and choose a good niche that you can easily be consistent with for a long time.

    Writing Quality Post And
     Engagement

Newbies should note that quality posts are important, take your time to write meaningful posts that will attract readers.
If your writing is substandard you won't have many followers or probably any upvotes.

Engagement is another important thing that will make a newbie excel and attract visibility.
Newbies need to connect with other authors and write meaningful comments on their posts.

Quality comments are important, not simply writing very nice, this is amazing, nice one, etc., but providing excellent comments. Make an outstanding contribution to the articles written by other authors.

Hive Is Not A Get Rich Quick
     Platform

Whenever you have the intention to make a lot of money in the Hive ecosystem as a newbie, you will get it wrong right from the beginning.
It takes time to earn substantial earnings here, just erase the thought of making big money here.
When you have the thought of working for the future, then won't be discouraged by the low payout at the beginning stage.

   Participate In Hive Power-Up

A lot of newbies thought power-ups are meant for the old members only. Some thought they are not earning big money yet and they won't participate.
Power-up is very important, it will increase your power in the community and you are also staking your hive for future purposes.

If you are consistent in your writing, at least you will have 10 Hive to participate in the monthly power-up day.
As a newbie, don't rush to cash out the little earnings you are earning, instead of cashing out. Use the payout for power-up and build your reputation as well in the community.

    Focus on at least 2
  communities & Join Contest

As a newbie, don't jump into writing in several communities. Focus on at least two communities that have great members that support each other and also encourage newbies.

This is my opinion and I know it can be of help to some newbies.
A Lot of newbies make these mistakes by jumping from one community to another. In the end, they won't be consistent in any community. Just concentrate on a few ones that will increase your visibility.

I started with the Hive learners community only when I joined this ecosystem, then later I joined the Leo Finance community, and then I added Emotions and feelings. That was how I started my journey in this ecosystem.
By doing this, you will establish consistency in the communities you select and gain some followers.

In conclusion, consistency is paramount. Nothing beats the power of consistency. Being a newbie on any platform is always hard, be consistent and never give up.

A lot of newbies gave up because of the low payouts and lack of engagement on their posts. But if you are consistent and focus, you will achieve your goals in the Hive ecosystem.
