Today was a good day. I was feeling good. I had a chance to catch up on my sleep during the long weekend, so that helps a lot.
Today I was making some sash pieces. Normally, these would be made at the moulder since it’s much faster, but when there are only a few pieces of each size, it’s not worth the hassle to setup the moulder, so we make the pieces at the CNC.
Here’s a pile of pieces I did today.
They send me the blank pieces along with a drawing of what it’s supposed to look like.
Here’s an example of a drawing for a piece of sash.
The drawing is 1:1 to scale, so when I’m done, I can quickly know if the piece is good by holding the end of my piece on the drawing. And the drawing should outline the piece. Of course, that’s just a quick and dirty way. I usually measure with callipers to make sure the dimensions are correct.
Here’s a finished piece viewed from the end. You can see that it matches the drawing.
That’s pretty much it for my day.
I haven’t posted over the weekend because I pretty much stayed at home and was lazy. I was overtired and needed to catch up on my sleep.
Well, anyway, thanks for your time.
Until next time, have a good one!
