Many times we believe that in order to lead a minimalist lifestyle we have to buy some things and get rid of others, for example, in terms of furniture, but sometimes it is about taking advantage of what you already have, renovating, adapting something else or even recycling.
In my particular case as far as decoration is concerned, I do not have many ornaments in the living room, one of the reasons, I think the more ornaments, the more I have to clean and that would make me feel like a slave, which would mean not having very little time to rest, take a coffee calmly, I have friends who live cleaning and it is something I don't want for me, so the less things the better, first because of what I already mentioned and second because I think that sometimes so much decoration makes the rooms look overloaded.
Currently I live with my mother this apartment is hers, but you could say that in certain aspects I am in charge, my home is under construction but I already have in mind how I would like to decorate, for example as the living room and dining room are a single room and at the end of it is the kitchen that is divided with a counter that we would use as a dining room, because I do not have the slightest intention of buying or acquiring a dining room and have one, believe me it will be something small four seats and the furniture the same, something that allows mobility, I like to move freely, something I also love and I think every home should have are the curtains in the living rooms, I think they are a beautiful detail I like fresh and light light colors that although they cover the sunlight but let in the brightness I love the illuminated environment, in short that attenuate and / or reduce the light, but not darken the environment (there are always offers available curtain fabrics).
All of the above, brings me to remember my mother-in-law's furniture, she died almost two years ago, my husband vacated his mother's apartment to sell it and coincidentally my mother-in-law's furniture is small as I like so it would be just upholster with some fabric to my taste and ready, the dining room is small four seats, but I would not have to wait to see although being wood will be perfect with the ceiling that is tongue and groove.
As for the walls, I also like to decorate them, but I would like to do it with few pictures or that what would decorate them would be something done at home, my mother and I knit cross stitch and there are plenty of designs that can be knitted and framed so they would be to my taste and I think even more appreciated.
On the other hand currently at my mother's house, in the living room we only have a small wooden table with a plant is one of the things that I like to see there, because it is simple and in my eyes provides freshness, the table needs to be sanded and varnished, but it is one thing that my son or my husband can do, but there is a big detail to deal with, my mother is a hoarder, I know that sometimes there are things that can be reused, for example wooden boards to make her compost box for the garden, but sometimes she keeps a lot of untitled things that end up getting in the way. But I have managed to have at least in the living room the necessary and essential things, the sofa, the dining room, the computer table, plus a large TV where we watch shows, series and movies, but for me the decoration the less details and accessories the better, that includes even the lamps.
In short for me, these are the factors to consider for the decoration of any home environment, especially if we want it to be minimalist my, so ends my entry for the #KISS: Blogging Ideas 11 I can not leave without inviting my dear friend @cirangela to participate, I think she could contribute ideas on this topic, she seems to me an extremely practical woman. I say goodbye waiting to read her impressions in the comments box.
